Fascinating Folding

The focus of this beautiful chair is its one-of-a-kind seat that is formed by a solid wood piece that has been cut into strips and folded at critical points to form the shape. From the underside and back, the Melon chair appears to be one fluid piece, but view it from the front and you’ll immediately notice its unique seat accented by contrasting soft, white fabric that makes the seat appear as though it had been effortlessly draped over the frame.

  • There’s something quite attractive about it.

The upper view looks like a cat (or is it just my opinion? :p)

‘formed by a solid wood piece that has been cut into strips and folded at critical points’ love it, who would have thought you could fold wood. This, if it could be made, would be very uncomfortable because the curve at the front of the chair would be very uncomfortable on the undersides of your legs. The arc is not relaxed enough, or the seat padded enough.

How has the chair been upholstered?
