Inspired by Swarovsky Signity watches, this timepiece by designer Ilya Yakovlev features a surface made from real crystals backlit by LEDs. You can increase the luminosity and change colors to suit your mood. Is it real? In the mind of Yakovlev yes. Is it expensive? I’m gonna hedge my bet and say hell yeah.

Great Britain is set to change their change. Their Royal Mint just announced the winning designs for their coin currency refresh. 26 year old graphic artist, Matthew Dent’s heraldic design was chosen as the new face of British booty. He designed a set of clever cut-aways of the Shield of the Royal Arms. Each denomination is a part of this shield and when brought together, the shield looks complete.

Inspired by Swarovski’s expertise in crystal and Signity’s brilliance in gems, the Luna Watch is made of crystal, stainless steel and a Spessartite Garnet. To tell time just touch the two contact points and time seems to magically float inside the crystal.

“All you need is love…” is probably one of the most profound and simple messages ever sung, preached or uttered in the history of the world. John Lennon’s message of peace and harmony is needed today more than ever and the designers of this “Swiss Peace Knife” could not agree more.

Most of us here in the United States (that are not of the Jurassic age demographic) have but one point of reference when it comes to sand filled hour glasses. For over 40 years, one of the longest running television shows in history opens with a slow camera zoom on an hour glass ticking away your daily wasted hour of mind numbing melodrama.

The ABRACADABRA bookmark aims to make finding where you left off and opening to that page easier. I didn’t know it was an issue but now I hate my ordinary paper bookmark. The ABRACADABRA contains an air-filled chamber, half of which is flattened by the weight of a book. Squeezing the exposed side inflates the concealed side lift the page just enough for your finger to slip in.

In these fast paced days of RSS feeds, text messaging and pneumatic wine bottle openers, it is always nice to see a young designer take a risk and go against the grain by reinterpreting an almost forgotten and completely ubiquitous item like the hand held mirror.

Fetishes are an interesting phenomenon, you never know when something might peak your curiosity and strike you in a gratifying way. Rarely in life does an object instantly make you raise an eyebrow and re-imagine what turns you on, sexually or any other way. Little, if anything is known about this Handcuff watch by Luis Berumen dubbed “ZeroPointZero”, but I believe he has successfully tapped into humanities deep fascination with possession and control.

Founded in London by Anthony Hayward, ARMREVOLUTION is not so much a brand as a radical movement for change in mens luxury accessories. Its mission: to create the most innovative cufflink brand in the world. Each patent-pending design was conceived to reinvent the way that a French cuff shirt is attached at the wrist so innovative that the company refers to them as arm architecture.

One of my peeves is seeing people spit out their gum onto the sidewalk. Like HELLO! I see you and that is so wrong. Designer Jung-taek Choi noticed people are more willing to dispose of their gum properly if it’s part of a fun activity, so he created the Gum Flower. The wrapper is actually a piece of origami waiting to be folded, providing a neat little cup for your used gum.
