In Light of Eternity

In Light of Eternity

A winner of the Franz Award for Porcelain Design, the Sphere pendant find inspiration for this year’s “eternity” theme in the visual symbol. Now in its three dimensional form, the two overlapping ellipses meet at the center where there is a focused, direct beam light. On either side are horizontal extensions with embedded LEDs that cast a softer ambient light. With filigree, complex shapes, the design is also an example of porcelains many applications, even for intricate details.

Innovations in the field of trashcans are few and far between, which is why the “Hook Me Garbage” caught my fancy. It features hook-able arms that mount on top of a desk and makes life a lot easy for those who like to practice ‘crumpled paper basketball!’

The minimalistic, 3-part desk is perfect for compact spaces. Wedged between two metal, wall-mounted bars, the board can rest flush against the wall when not in use, making its overall footprint next-to-nothing. The unattached bamboo board doubles as a portable lap desk that you can use almost anywhere while a groove across its width serves as handy space for your tablet or phone.

Spray n' Save

Spray n’ Save

However simple, the eco-friendly T-Spray bottle is incredibly innovative in a number of ways! For starters, the bottle features a squeegee adapted directly onto the top in order to free one of the user’s hands during use while also preventing exhaustion. To save space and energy in the delivery process, the multifunctional tool also utilizes an ingenious packaging system where the bottle and squeegee combo are nested in cut-out spaces within the concentrated detergent container.

A Mirror for Reflecting

A Mirror for Reflecting

Architect Roberto Paoli’s LOID mirror isn’t just for checking your makeup and hair… it’s for pondering your perspective altogether. The scenographic object captures changing perspectives with 3 mirroring slabs. The surface is not continuous but fragmented into three pars in a deconstructed graphic configuration that makes possible the reflection of the space from three markedly different points of view, all directed toward the user.

Let’s All Just Jump

Let’s All Just Jump

We have seen many skipping rope (Jump Rope) iterations for harnessing Kinetic Energy and transforming it into torchlights. A new addition to this list is the Jumping Lighting, a rope that lights across its length and not just at the handles. This feature is quite impressive and makes it stand apart from the other concepts. What do you think?

The Lightest Lights

The Lightest Lights

The Airy Lamp Series is so named for its barely-there materials and faint cut-out form that together make it no more than a subtle silhouette during the day and soft, diffused glow at night. The design kit utilizes delicate Japanese rice paper made durable and strong with lamination. A simple slot-in assembly of the five and six panel designs means each to be shipped flat-pack and the finely cut perforated pattern in each panel allows the user to extrude each panel into their desired form.

Scientific Bean Grinding

Scientific Bean Grinding

Coffee-geeks will love Pisona as it merges the versatility of a burr grinder with the compactness of a blade grinder, creating a revolutionary two-phase grinding process that enhances the aroma and flavor of the grounds. Rather than “shave” off parts of whole beans directly, the new auger system and innovative internal configuration first crack beans to 3mm and then transfer it to be ground to the user’s desired fineness. The closest thing to the preferred hand-grinding method, its slower automated process ensures beans aren’t heated in the grinding process.
