The Speed Guard is a speedometer alert that uses a colored display to let the driver know that he is speeding above the permitted speed limit. GPS readings detect the position of the car and the speed limit of that particular road. So even if you see the signboard, your car knows the speed limit; no escaping that!

Yup, that’s what you’ve literally got to do to lock your cycle, when you are using the Quick Stand & Lock, locking system. The locking system is integrated into the stand in such a way that all you need to do is park your bike, and as you kick it’s stand down, the number lock just gets into action. The clever thing even cuts you the step of actually chining up your cycle. Pretty clever if you ask me!

My bike got stolen! Been there, done that; so the focus has to be on how do we stop these bicycle thieves from getting creative at picking locks? Simple, let’s make it a foolproof locking system. Which is why the Saddle Lock looks to be a superb solution. You can quickly lock the bike by pushing back the seat into the locking position and make a quick stop to get your coffee.

The Citi.Transmitter is a versatile urban-transportation concept that expands on the shared-vehicle solution by offering a mix of eco-friendly modular units for a variety of needs. Using an innovative smart-hitch system, users can easily attach modules to the primary 2-wheeled car to carry more passengers or cargo. About a 4th of the size of standard cars, the ultra-compact vehicle makes getting around heavily congested cities a cinch!

The Discolor Tyre is a concept where the age and durability of the car tire is indicated and communicated through its color. Basically a tire is good for around 20,000 kilometers, and then its kinds worn out. With the Discolor Tyre, the tire takes on a bright orange hue once it is worn out and requires immediate replacement. It saves you the trouble of keeping a constant check and acts as a good warning system to keep your travels safe.

With all the traffic congestion and vehicle-related pollution up on the rise, electric powered and other hybrid green-fueled mode of transportation seems to be a happy work around. Joining the ranks is the JAC<, a compact, foldable electric powered scooter. Ideal for urban distances and loaded with high-tech features, this environmentally friendly, modern personal transporter is easy to fold and to bring along anywhere.

This award-winning project by Oliver Elst applies the theme of reduction to the aesthetics and structure of this Mercedes concept, in the process creating an entirely new material and light-weight technology. The “sandwiched” material visible throughout the vehicle would consist of 3 layers- 2 for interior and exterior protection and an inner reactive filling that is used for temperature and lighting adjustment. The resulting aesthetic is an organic skin-like shell synthesized into a classic metal framework.

It’s time to get in the laser-projector zone with none other than a design by the name of “Bike Zone”, complete with red beams for signaling. If you want to turn left, this beast of a light shines several arrow-looking symbols down at the ground to the left – the same is true of the right – imagine that! The only ones we worry for now are the squirrels – watch your eyes, guys!

There’s a lot to be said about taking a perfectly simple aesthetic gesture and turning it into a guide for the public. In this case it’s a couple of laser beams stopping humans or vehicles from crossing paths at the same time. This design by HOJOON Lim goes by the name Guardian and will bring a perfect stop to a crash that could have been near you.

I love me a hatchback and I love me a Tesla! The Tesla C captures the brand’s unique design language in a forward-thinking 2-door city car that lives up to the original’s sporting intentions. Features include an all-glass top, motorized oversize side doors that slide toward the front rather than swing open and an electric motor/lithium-ion battery system for sporty performance without sporty emissions. Aesthetically, it’s in line with Tesla’s modern design direction and would be a perfect addition to their limited line of roadsters and sedans.

The Volkswagen Expand is a super-versatile concept vehicle that offers not 1 but 2 functional expansions that make it the perfect urban commuter. The first is an extendable cabin that accommodates 1 or 2 additional passengers or extra cargo. The second is the car’s removable front wheels which double as personal transportation using a sophisticated gyroscopic sensor system similar to a Segway. It’s a limitless, all-in-one solution for getting around the urban jungle!

Love the idea of a bird’s eye view of a city and maybe this is why we have the Burj Khalifa and London Eye. To inspire creative people and get them to take in a different perspective of Prague, we have here the 0 Gravity Tour concept vehicle. Literally giving you wings to fly around town and take in the sights, the flying machine gives you an aerial view of the city. Interesting and inspiring, maybe we should all have a lofty look at life.

The Smart City Cycle takes into consideration that you may have to carry some luggage with you when you head out. It could be as simple as groceries or toys for your children. The rear wheel of the cycle hosts extendable compartments that can hold your goodies for you. If required, then the storage extension can be completely removed as well. Either ways, it’s a modular cycle that suits your daily commuting needs.
