Smart Angle is a visual aid for flame control on a gas stove. While cooking Chinese food, the hot Wok and ingredients are not the only thing you need to have a control over. The heat or the flame of the gas is the other key element you need to keep an eye on. The conventional way to control the flame is to bend at the waist and peek at the burner and then set the flame. Smart Angle eliminates this dangerous step by using refraction.
As the designers explain, Smart Angle helps the user to be more intuitive at controlling the flame while cooking. It prevents occupational disease that might occur in the long term; example: back and waist injuries.

Okay, this is interesting. I’ve never had this problem myself, as I’m still short enough not to have to bend down, but this makes sense.
This is a good design but we are moving towards induction cooker these days.
Trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist? I turn the hob on and then put any pots and pans on it. Not sure why anyone would place a saucepan on a hob and then squat down to see when they’re turning it on. If it’s controlling during, just lift the saucepan / wok up. Buying a whole new product instead of using something as simple as common sense seems a bit counter intuitive.
Never heard about people have this kind of confusion…
Problem is real, Interesting concept, I have my reservations on getting the image projected onto the screen just using optics
