Color Rubik Cube For The Blind

The last Rubik Cube that we saw on Yanko Design had textures as tease for the visually challenged; this current iteration uses only Braille. Colors embossed include green, blue, red, yellow, white & pink. One of the more sensible concepts in a long time that hopefully will delight the sighted folks too! Maybe we’ll learn Braille in this process!

I have an adult son who was cortically blinded in an accident when he was turning 12 yrs of age. He has literally worn out (to the falling apart stage) every “broiled” Rubik’s Cube we have been able to buy him as gifts.

I’d love to find a supplier and the all-white approach would be fine as well as the “shape” versions – with or without color.

I’ve been diligently watchful in 2014 for a supplier but so far have not turned one up. The previously specialty resource stores for the blind or visually impaired all report “out of stock” with no info on when more may be available.

Help if you can – I’ll be glad to then do the research to track a fresh supply down. (We live in Austin Texas…and there is definite market here as our official Texas School for the Blind is also located here.)
