Sure some curtains attempt to dazzle us with features like lace fringe or intricate pleats, while others have the sole purpose of simply blocking out the sun. Anyway you look at them, they serve a purpose in almost any space. From keeping our domestic activities private to framing a view, curtains are as ubiquitous as the walls they are attached to. Curtain designer Florian Kräutli has bravely dragged the Window Treatment Industry into the 19th Century by incorporating magnet technology into every panel. Embedding hundreds of evenly dispersed tiny magnets into a grid of prefab folds allows for the easy manipulation of the silhouette or strategically modifying exposure for light and/or privacy.

Very smart, and sexy… but heavy?
I’ve seen it before in a design magazine of 1967.
The whole idea is stolen
I’ve seen something similar by fashion designer Helmut Lang. Very architectural. Beautifully executed here.
It’s the 21st century, If you haven’t noticed.
I believe the 19th Century reference was about the invention of artificially produced magnets in the 1800s.
That is such a neat idea… i love it!!
truly brillaint!.. Wow..
really great idea even for a curtain
Beautifully clever
So what the heck is all over the floor?
the remnants of other curtains slaughtered by this amazing idea!

It’s well done, but I couldn’t really imagine it in anyone’s home–perhaps in their sun room. In a practical sense, who really has the time to fuss with the–these–curtains for aesthetic purposes everyday. Still, it’d be nice to see.
mmm the future
This was born from research of the alien spacecraft at roswell
I want to buy them.
Seriously, where can I buy them?
good very very good
Wow, they are brilliant. Where can I buy them?
good very good
How do you wash this thing?
i wanna wear it
a dress that changes shape according to latest fashion or something
Very good practical idea. Kinda looks like a huge piece of paper though… and a crumpled one at that.
If you like the look of crumpled paper on your walls, great. Maybe it would be fun in bright colors for a kids playroom or something.
