Da-Bloom Baby!
Multifunctional furniture is where it’s at. Something that can be used in several different functional ways to simplify or organize our lives and bring out the best in our imagination. Da-Bloom is by Korean designer Jin-Young Lee and imitates the motion of a blooming flower. Made from plywood and plastic, the table can be customized to your liking with just a few simple twists and turns. Use it as a chair and table or for the children to create an imaginary hide-out. Da-Bloom can also be custom made in various colors – you choose your bloom.

Agreed that looks as good as it functions.

This design is incredibly clever. I like it!!!
zippyflounder says
nice piece, however the designer will find that the inner sleeves would need to be a lot longer (3x) than shown for the central spine to function well.

thank you for your thoughtful mention.
This furniture is for kids and every size measured of children’s humanfactor. It’s fine.
And This is not just table and chair. Da-Bloom is furniture which can be used by kid’s imagination. They have a key how to use.

Very nice. Filling it with water? You lost me there.
Mickey says
Thank you. ^^
The water is for the weight.
If it made of solid plastic or wood, the kids could not move by themselves.
The empty plastic axis is for easy moving.
Do you have any good idea? Please let me know…^^

even if the concept is not new in furniture (Castiglioni) it’s quite interessing but i prefer a 2 tops desk or on in this project square surface because you cannot write on the right of your book or desktop, it’s for left hand people , a minority
Eric says
Please explain to me how this is only for left handed people? I feel stupid for not figuring that out so forgive me, but can you not just rotate it to sit on the other side???

The presentation is not good : multi desk for a family should be better and from desk for life (children to adult)=> family desk
Tania says
So beautiful~ I want to get it.~ Where can I buy it?
Evan says
not quite as graceful as Achille Castiglioni’s Joy Rotating Shelf

i have no clue when castiglionis shelf was made but i did a very similar design to an end table in my furniture design class in 2005. altho i did not get to fully develop on it but it was a beginners class at the time. it was made to be easily adaptable to fit anywhere such as a corner or around a corner or just flat against a wall
here’s a pic of it

This one is exactly same as one of my graduate works last year which won GAGU competition for
first prize.
Coincidence?
Mickey says
Da-Bloom idea generated at the ‘Magis workshop_Me too project for kids’ by designer Lee in 2005. The furniture company ‘Magis’ has the original sketches and presentation documents.
After the workshop, Designer Lee made it by himself in Germany in 2006.
Please do not judge with some part and shape.
The concept is totaly different.
