Beer buddies of mine never use bottle openers; they always use their teeth. I guess it is more of a macho thing to do…. but chipped teeth don’t suit my style. I think Easy Open can be the saving grace. It’s designed on the lines of a can ring; a quick clip maneuver and the bottle cap pops open. If this thing works then I guess even soda bottles should try it.

sory, but that solution already exist in a portuguese beer many years back… tha brand is Super Bock
In Spain, some brands of beer already use a similar system for several months: http://imagenes.conmuchagula.es/2011/01/abrefacilsme.jpg
There is a difference in the crown ridging, the beer bottle images you show have a smooth ridge crown, but this one has the normal crown, which requires an opener.
guys this system it’s a bit different…much simple and inovative. cheers!
This have been around for many years in europe. So i dont see anything new with it….
@ben you talk about the ring open.
Without the assist of leverage or slit?
Can women open it easily?
Dumb question but is there a reason why beer doesn’t use twist caps like pop bottles?
there are twist-off beer caps, you know…
The concept design is the same, the application mode is different…but this is plagiarism, sorry.
Alec.
For the lower primates still among us who haven’t developed the use of tools.
Can’t you just twist the cap? no need for cap lifters, teeth or any other gimmicks.
Amstel pulse also uses it.
There’s a beer called Baltika that has the same cap.
Screw caps have been around a long time. And otherwise you can always use the side of the crate or a lighter. A lot of solutions for something that hasn’t been a problem for decades 😉
tuborg also do this!!!
Several beers in New Zealand also use this technology. It’s very convenient but I agree, why don’t they just use twist off? It’s a style choice I believe. Once enough of them change then they’ll all be more likely to change. Same for wine bottles with corks vs caps.
As previously noted: it’s already commercial and working just fine…

Don’t you hate it when that happens to your dream idea? Well at least he can rest assured that it he was thinking in the right direction, since it’s obviously been done successfully. But I say he should add his own twist to it, I thought some of the stuff on his website was cool.
Tuborg all ready uses this on every bottle well not exactly the same design but with the same idea. Still it looks nice. 🙂
wow i also always use me teeth but now i will feel so happy and easy 😛
Here’s a link about the Super Bock version of it (in portuguese and with video): http://cadeiadevalor.wordpress.com/2009/06/05/super-bock-mini-tp-capsula-inovadora/
As stated, this can’t be considerated that “new”…

since i remember
Twist off caps allow more oxygen to enter bottles, which leads to beer spoiling more quickly. Oxidation = cardboard flavor.

5 years ago!!san miguel, super bock, tuborg….
Yep. Here in the Philippines, it’s been employed for the first time that I’m aware of earlier this year through Antonov Vodka of Ginebra San Miguel. http://www.ginebrasanmiguel.com/gsmi/index.php?p=74
Ammmm…..
It’s an energy drink in a Hungarian market:

Super Bock and Sagres, two portuguese brands, already have that. This is not so original…
In this way, the lift ring will be broken first.
then strength of the knerled cap is very strong.
Get your dignity back and learn to open a bottle like “Homo Sapiens”.
No bottle opener at hand? Improvise.
You will need practice, but not years. You can use a lighter, keys, chair feet, another (unopened) bottle… You can use almost everything, even paper if folded the right way…
