Meet WAT, a lamp powered by water. Wait what!?! A few drops of water kick starts the process where it combines with a hydroelectric battery (composed of a carbon stick coated with magnesium powder) to generate an electro chemical reaction to create power. No idea how efficient it is but color me intrigued.
Materials: Sanded blow glass , Steel switch, bioplastic, Warm white LED stripes

How long does the battery last? Does it create any waste by-products?
Save electricity by wasting water?
If you could power this with rain water it wouldn't be wasting water.

Cool. This is like a hybrid car. Not powered by oil or gas but by water. Nice, very resourceful.
Similar Carbide lamps used in mining in the early twentieth century. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbide_lamp
