Hand Crafted And All Wood Shades

It’s back to Mother Nature as far as the Shwood sunglasses are concerned. Handcrafted with a mix of precision technology and good ol’ fashioned craftsmanship, this collection features shades made from East Indian Rosewood coupled with mirrored and polarized lenses. The style seen here is called Ashland that comes packaged in a protective wooden hard case; crafted from a mix of Walnut and European Maple. A lot of wood in there I tell you! Fashionable and chic! Price begins at $145 a piece.

Designer: Shwood

There's something about wood that can make any design classy. With that said, I really like this piece.

I have to wonder about the life of this product – there are reasons metals and polycarbonates are used in glasses manufacture – wood cannot be milled to exacting specifications of eyewear (it will shrink & expand with humidity). It's also kinda old school, no?
