Satisfying Drag

Don’t we just love to drag things around? We drag our commitment issues, our luggage; our emotional baggage….ah the list is endless. So what’s new to drag around here (besides some hippie ciggies), why an umbrella that is innovatively called the “umbROLLa”. A rolling ball at the peak tweaks the simple design and adds fun dimension to it. Totally cool wouldn’t you say?

You could generate electricity from the movement/friction and hold it in a capacitor; so it would be possible to re-charge your household re-chargeable batteries by walking with your umbrella! 🙂

i think you are missing the point here, the product concept is aimed at filling an emotional-based niche, and carry an umbrella everyday so that you can charge your phone is pretty dumb.

Great, more clutter for our already crowed sidewalks in New York City. It’s annoying enough that so may pedestrians are wheeling cases that they could easily carry (meaning small/light weight). It’s annoying because it takes up more valuable sidewalk space then if they would be wheeling it along side/behind them.

I bet the ball would wear down after some time. The dents and gouges would eventually start to harm other surfaces it rolls over. I’m sure the joint would eventually get clogged with dirt and the ball would stop functioning. Best not to drag our baggage?

I don’t understand this. Why not just carry the umbrella? You don’t free up a hand with this design so what is the point?

All it needs is a giant ink cartridge, turn it into a giant ball point pen, and you'd be able to leave a trail…. or right messages to other pedestrians, or just do graffiti. no more getting lost, or having to scatter bread crumbs behind yourself, you could always find your way back.
