Emergency Hazard Lights Better Than Flares?

Emergency hazard lights aren’t anything new so unless you’re going to rewrite the book and create a paradigm shift, only thing you have to differentiate yourself is design. The Lumitic light is cute, yes I said cute! The egro handle lights up red to flag would be saviors down or a simple release turns the unit into a tripod to divert ongoing traffic. Better than emergency flares but not as fun. Something about fire.

Quick point of diversion here. An industrial designer once told me if someone critiques your design as either cute or interesting, go back to the drawing board.

nice piece, I did something much the same in 91 but in about 1/2 the form factor (so 2 it would fit in your glove box) as a extension of one of my patents.

im sure your patents are amazing, its always about you isn’t it 😉

many many many things have been done before, in some manner. New technologies allow truly new things to exist, and ultra high output LED’s (red) were the THING in the early 90’s. Lots of us used them for a lot of differet products, a logical application for road side safety. Form factors are generaly logical, a tripod is about the minimum you can get for something that stands upright, so no suprise that its used here, and likely has been proposed for simalar uses dating back to the first battery powerd lights.

The moral for designers, pay attention to new REAL technologies and learn the guts about them, because thats what is going to make your designs cutting edge and feasable not just flights of fancy.

I like the collapsing nature of the legs. But will they hold up to the abuse of an emergency? What about some way of reminding you to retrieve it when your car is finally non-disabled.

Looks like a model rocket. Can you add sparklers to it, for a little pizzaz
