For the past four years, German-born designer Rainer Subic has based himself in Barcelona, where he runs his own design studio PinkPinguin. His latest work is a series of nautical-themed products such as Max’ a new coat hanger system made from rope and sailing knots. “I take the ideas from different areas and give them a new function” he says. “I watch life closely, and keep an eye on every detail to know how it works. I feel I must think about how to make better things, to optimise actions or even new products.”
