Nokia 888 Mobile Phone by Tamer Nakisci
A personal mobile communication device which lets you be free and fun. It is light, simple and carefree. You can change its form according to your needs during the day. You dont have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in anyform. You can roll it, bend it, put on your clothes like a clip. It also makes some form changes that makes it more ergonomical: i.e. when you want to talk on the phone, the body form turns into the form of the good old telephone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best in the way that you have chosen. Also e-motions let you send forms to other 888 users: i.e. you can send a heart shape to your girlfriend or a dancing figure to your friends to call them to the party tonight. This way you can talk without words.

*technologies that are used
It uses liquid battery, speech recognition, flexible touch screen, touch sensitive body cover which lets it understand and adjust to the environment. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that it changes forms in different situations.
*the functionality of design

It learns you, to fit you better.Also e-motions lets you send forms to the other 888 users. It could be the shape of a heart or a small dance. This way you can talk without words.
*how the user interacts
E-motions… It means electronical motions that 888 has. You can send and receive forms from / to friends. You can send a heart shape to your girlfriend, so her telephone turns into an icon of heart. Or you can send a dancing form to your friends to call them to the party tonight. This is the fun side of the product. If we look from the functionality side, 888 is quite flexible. You can put it into your pocket, roll it and make it smaller, or put on your wrist when you want to make a video call on the go. If you want to talk like a normal telephone, there you have your telephone shape. We go through a lot of places and situations in the daily life, so it seems like one form is not enough.
*what is unique
You can change the form of the body. Not just the color. And you can do the same by sending an e-motion to your friend.
*the inspiration
The idea is that “the perfect form” does not exist. “Form follows you” We create the perfect form for each function.

When does concept out way design. The very concept of an idea is the time when the inventor or as I prefer the creator dreams of an idea so unimaginable that the very concept can change the world and how we live and work with in it. These concepts are rare as are the creators though as time passes they become more and more transparent within modern society, so much so that soon the incredulous soon become the norm and we will no longer notice the amazing as it will just be the expected.

This is Cpt George Andreosatos Makris I have come across a device so phenominal, its technology is far beyond our capable reach the crew have been astonished by what it can do and are eager to see how it can benefit and improve their lives. Our on board humanoid has become emotional about this device, I for one was amazed with its liguid power source and it’s un matched forms that it takes up, Almost like the shape shifter species we discovered in the 5th quadrant recently. ok everyone goes wow and woes, but we never know how good it will be, they always say(never judge the book by its cover)so lets wait and see.it looks very good and clever, but you never know guyz….lets keep our fingers crosssed….i really really hope that it will turn out to be perfct,coz it will be the answer to our prayers for a perfect cel-phone.

My OPINIONATOR tells me this is an awesome design, for the first fact it does something no other cell can do. It can bend and turn into various shapes and forms, which is obviously serving it’s functional requirements and size is everything, meaning small or thin is IN.
I would like to see a variety of colors, that would make interest even greater and maybe some type of ART work and if I see the pic correctly, it looks as if it is wrapping around a wrist, which is absolutely amazing as it will serve as a great functional feature, with the addition of more of an ARTISTIC outside, maybe a CAMO look, Flowers, this is really going to catch the eye of many people. In my opinion this cell has great potential to make the designer some serious denero.

The phone looks good, but i highly doubt if Nokia is really considering this model, let hope they live up to their reputation. This phone will change the way manufacturers design phones. I am definitely going to buy one as soon as its launched.

It is a concept phone. It takes a while to get the design approved and implement the technology with microfiber electronics. So I would say couple of years from now.

It would be really great plus for this kind of thing to have a capability to enlarge the screen size. I mean you guys at nokia could build, let’s say extra 2 of these flexible touch screens inside the wrist/phone . Then when you feel like you need some entertainment -> put the wristphone in to flat mode, press a button(for 2sec’s) and those 2 screens would pop out on below the main screen. That way watching videos, exploring maps, scrolling web pages and for example reading e-news/rss-feeds would be a pleasant experience.
THEN it would totally knock out every phone available!

Guys, get a grip. It is a CONCEPT. Won’t exist for AGES, if at all. There is NO price, you CANT buy it, and nokia is not the best phone company in the world, EVERYone knows that. There are many more phone companies out there who are way bettter, better price, and better functionability. Sony ericsson is just one I have to mention. It has longer battery life in its phones, better functions, they look better, they last long, they are much more durable, and over all they definitely beat Nokia down to the ground.
