Is publishing your contents on online design communities or hosting your own portfolio site enough for creative satisfaction? Don’t you want evaluation or recognition for your efforts? Much like how a post is done on YD, where we hear scores of you either trashing or praising a design, forcing the designers to re-think his strategy or go-ahead with his convictions.
You could win a $1,000 University scholarship or a 13″ MacBook and all you have to do is a design a TatSkinz for the iPhone. You have until November 30th so get your designing neurons together because I want to see something amazing. I’m one of the judges so impress me and you might win! Competitions are healthy coz it brings out the best in you. It did so for many folks who took part in the Zero Boundaries Design Competition. On YD we did run you the details a while back and here are the results. Winners were awarded in two categories: solutions targeted specifically at today’s youth and more forward-looking solutions for the designers’ target of choice. Skip ahead for the results.

ZINK Imaging is asking the design community for new “solutions” and applications (not new form factors for existing products etc.) that enable and enhance printing with the ZINK Technology. Essentially, it’s about the whole design solution, not just the fit and finish. Self-help is the best help, the sooner you imbibe this rule in your life, the faster you will find success. I’m not trying to be preachy here, but this is a fact that most biggies in the industry live by.
If you want to own the best possible mobile phone in this world, my dear friend you’re gonna have to design it yourself, because you know what’s best for you.
Competition: LG Design the Future Competition
Want a Geneva Medium all-in-one stereo? ($799) In cooperation with DWR and Parsons design students – Geneva is giving you a chance to win one and all you have to do is vote! On March 21, SCI-Arc’s SCI-FI program and The Architect’s Newspaper announced the winners of their open ideas competition, A New Infrastructure: Innovative Transit Solutions for Los Angeles.

The list that you see here reflects how the designers have incorporated a simplistic every-day value to their complex technological design. In my mind I see the common thread of mundane objects being inspirational and incidental. Can you see the beautiful lampshade in the Gramo or the pots in the Sound Eggs? I do, I’m just waiting for you to catch up with me!
