I have a Targus stylus, and while I thought it was cool at first, I couldn’t trust the squishy tip when drawing. So now I just use my fingers. I’ve been wanting to try a Jot and it’s smaller point of contact for so long. It’ll help me a lot with my designs on my tablet. And the pen is just a bonus. I hope I win.
Sebastian says
I do not have any stylus, but I am looking for one to use with my Galaxy S3. I have been using my finger to take notes for my classes, but a stylus would be better. Adonit Jot Flip seems to be nice with the pen and stylus function. It would be great for note taking. I hope I can win one.
Atilaa says
I try to use my finger and it does not glide on the screen so I can write one word on my tablet screen. So I cannot take notes using a tablet. Why? Because I do not have a cool Adonit Jot Flip yet
Jonathan says
I allways use my finger on the iPad. But there are limits to that. It’s really hard to get precise lines in the paper app or in other painting apps.
Katsura says
I didn’t even know there is something like that for an iPad *haha*. I still use my finger so I’d really like to win

I use fingers, but I cannot get the precision I need for making my designs become more expressive

I do not use stylus for my iphone or ipad, but would like to have Adonit Jot Flip as I could write this message quicker ))))
Jeff Miles says
I use my finger but have really been wanting to get a stylus. They seem much easier to use. Would love to win this one!
Hugo says
I use a Jot stylus to take notes on my iPad. Jot is the best stylus I ever had cuz it’s super precise and works awesome with note-taking app Upad.
Julius says
I’ve never had stylus, but I’d tried it once and indeed it feels more comfortable than using fingers, especially when pointing to small objects.
Callumcollie says
I use my finger with my iPad but have been intending to get a stylus for ages, to make better use of Paper by 53 more than anything. Trouble is, I can’t settle on which to get… At least winning one will take the decision out of my hands

I use my finger on my iPad but want to get a stylus/penfor sketching and typography design, I love doodleling especially in lectures! Helps me be more creative!

I’ve got a iPhone 4S & so far I’ve had to use my sausage fingers to type, browse, jot down couple of notes. Using a finger although I’m guessing is convinient when in hurry but for long e-mails, mobile IMing, some note taking or even blogging which I’m fond of (as a guilty pleasure only) a stylus could actually come in handy. Even while writing this one comment here, I made loads of typos which I’m hoping I won’t be seeing anymore once I get my hands on the Adonit Jot Flip

I use my fingers and a stylus, the jot flip has a much finer point so I think that will work better for fine line drawing and hand written notes.
Aria says
Currently I use finger, surely miss the time when I use stylus on Palm devices. Hope I win
Glen says
With my phone I’ve used mainly finger use for texting, typing, and the like. However, there are some instances with trying to do small drawings for sketches and trying to better pinpoint areas on maps that I think would be better done with a stylus like this. Especially since I plan on doing more design work for 3D modeling and the like.

I use both. I sketch, take notes and generally live on my iPad. The stylus I use has a squishy tip and I’ve been looking for something with a bit more precision…not to mention aesthetic style! I hope I win! Thanks for the contests!

Mark Matchen says
I use my finger, because I’ve never found an effective stylus. Until now? I’m not an artist but I use diagrams a lot to develop ideas and that’s why it would be so great to have an effective stylus!
Danzig says
I use my fingers to type and a very basic stylus from Griffin to sketch, however the tip is very bulbous making it difficult to sketch accurately – therefore I recommend people only buy this for writing notes on tablets. I would love to get my hands on the Adonit jot pro for the pure need for precision as most other designers and perfectionists would agree!

Roy Milton says
I currently use just my fingers for typing, but I’m looking to switch to an accurate stylus. I’m taking more notes and doing more work on my iPad than I imagined. Now that I have the app Paper, the Adonit would be perfect for my sketches.
Simon A says
I use my finger due to human physiological evolution not having caught up with technological advances yet.
According to Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection those individuals who are best adapted to their environment are most likely to thrive, survive and pass on their genes to the next generation.
I’m very keen to for my genes to survive as long as possible in my own generation so a technological solution, in the form of an Adonit Jot Flip, will give me survival advantages over my co-workers, friends and adversaries at the water cooler.
I need that device for fundamental survival purposes.
Daniel Smith says
I regularly use an iPad (1st gen) for note taking and engineering sketches at work. I have used a cheap stylus but was unhappy with the results. I usually default to using my fingertips unless presition is required. Even then, the stylus that I use is a big let down.
Reading up on the Adonit Jot Flip, it would seem to have some promise but I reain a skeptic until I can see the results for myself.
In any case, I would like to throw my hat in fo rthe chance to win one of the 4 prizes.
Jonny says
I’ve avoided stylus for years and thought like many there was no place for them. Now with Paper from 53, I am burning through stylus like cigs.
I think I’d love the Adonit…
Anthony Huddleston Jr. says
As a designer and a creative person my brain is always brewing with ideas. I always have a sketchbook, blank paper, or my tablet around to sketch ideas as they come and be able to have them for later in the day when I can relax and dive further into the ideas.
Having a pen/stylus would make for a great tool. I already carry around at least 2 pens and cheap stylus, having all in one would make life a little less complicated.
MB says
I would use it to create ideas and designs on my ipad for my clothing brand that is just starting up. I doodle alot on paper but I usually end up losing things. It would be of great help to have the ability to create designs with more precision on my handy ipad.
Lil says
I tend to use my hand for the most part on my touchscreen gadgets but I also use a stylus on my ipad, when I’m taking notes in class, which is super helpful for me.
Glenn Shaw says
I use my finger, mainly because most of the styli I’ve tried didn’t quite work well for me, mainly because of the thick tips (even on the smallest stylus — the tip makes it hard to draw fine or controlled lines). I’ve seen the other Jot styli, and this one looks intriguing for combining a stylus and a pen. The Jot Flip would probably find a home in my iPad’s gadget bag, if it works as well as it looks.
Tyler says
I use a Griffin stylus with Penultimate to take notes in class. Certain classes just need handwritten notes, so I just use my iPad as a virtual notebook! It’s awesome.
Bigrhet says
I allways use my finger on the screen of iPhone and iPad. It’s difficult to get precise lines in painting apps. That is the reason I like to win and previously I do not know such products
Ale says
I use the fingers, i have not found any stylus that meets the feeling of real writing and comfort. I use a stylus to take notes, but at the end I come back to the fingers as does not feel comfortable. It has been very difficult to find a good stylus here in Mexico, so I hope to get that Adonit Jot flip and use it here.
Yunlu says
I have not used any stylus previously and most likely I use my finger for any drawing. But found it is difficult to draw. I would like to try and wish for good luck!
Eric Grace says
I currently just use my finger for my iPhone and iPad. I’ve considered a stylus before, especially for the iPad, but I’m always afraid it might mess up my screen and/or screen protector. However, after seeing this stylus I might rethink that because I really like the idea of the disk. Hopefully I can win one to check it out.
Toffer Surovec says
I use both, I even have a paintbrush stylus. My iPad is another notebook. It’s something else that holds my thoughts, my doodles, and even stickers (I take a picture and save them, then put the sticker in a real notebook). The problem is precision. Nothing has offered this kind of precision. I want that kind of precision. I’d love to have something multipurpose and stylish like this to replace a few things I carry around in my bag.
VozProto says
Honestly? I have a Targus stylus and I use my finger for EVERYTHING.
The only thing the Targus stylus is good for, is poking myself in the eye without injury; if I use the proper end of course.
I have tried to sketch, write, draw with my finger on my iPad. But until I hack off my left index finger and use it as my stylus, I’m sticking with my sketchbook.

Depends on the situation, if I need to do some serious writing I use my Jot Pro, otherwise I tend to be fine with using my finger.
Egs says
I love to illustrate ideas to clients so that concepts are clear. Communicating those illustrations to other team members afterwards is a chore when using a pen and pad. I really need to move from paper to Tablet and move information around freely. Right now, the finger method is inaccurate, a precise device would be the way to get more detail into the communications. I usually give the finger to the finger method for it’s lack of control.
Sheila_B says
I use my finger more often, because I haven’t found a stylus that I really like (until now!).
Andrés says
I use a stylus with my iPad for taking notes in class and for all my design drawings and animations I make. I have the bamboo stylus but I feel like it’s not accurate at all, and after trying my friend’a Jot Pro I fell in love with all the Adonits! It’s the best way to get the real feel of a pen and paper in a much more portable and modern way!
Charles Raffetto says
I use my Jot to allows clients to sign offers for homes they want to purchase without having to go back to my office.
Andres Kebe says
I use my Wacom stylus with my iPad for taking notes in class and for all my design drawings and animations I make. I feel like the Wacom is not accurate at all, and after trying my friend’s Jot Pro I fell in love with it! Great design and functionality and It’s the best way to get the real feel of a pen and paper in a much more portable and modern way!

Currently using a Jot Pro. Not as exact as I’d wish (capacitive touchscreen technology is simply limited there) but still a thousand times more accurate than finger-painting.
I dislike styluses with a broad, rounded tip, that way I found Adonit when searching for a “better” stylus.
An integrated pen in the already-good Jot Pro I have would be a nice upgrade.
JakeHaydn says
I use my finger because the styluses I’ve tried are never very exact. I’ve tried several and this is the first I’ve seen that looks like it will actually work how I want!
Derrick Guo says
I have but my finger to use for my touch screen gadget.
Saw it on Kickstarter. Bought before a Jot Pro for my best friend as a birthday gift. Tried once but for less then a minute.
As i never could really afford such pen for myself. Because i am saving to pay my own school loans.
Jeff Cortez says
I use my finger because I don’t have a stylus
I. Bocanegra says
I wish I was born with a stylus instead of one of my fingers! Personally I find very difficult to use my finger to draw on my tablet, so I need to use a stylus. I guess we architects can’t cut that old bond with the drawing items….
Arnolg says
I don’t have any type of technology that utilizes a stylus however if I were to do a speculation, I would have to say that I would prefer a stylus over touch screen for tablets – or possibly the combination of the two.
viivtodo says
I use my finger because I cannot afford an adonit stylus. I’d love to use it to take notes in class and for some leisure drawing.
Sparkie says
I just use my finger. It sucks for drawing.
Nicole k says
I use the jot pro when writing on my touchscreen devices. I love how much more precise the ballpoint design is compared to the typical fat stylus. It is also weighted to feel like a real pen. I am glad to see a clip is being added because this will make it much easier to hang on to the jot. Many of my friends and co-workers have purchased the jot after trying mine and seeing how much better it performs than the average stylus. This new design looks awesome, hope I win one so I can try it out!
Prateek says
well it all depends on app
if its something like writing or sketching or editing, i like to use a stylus because its much easier than finger since it needs precision..
but for something like browsing or typing fingers are much better ..
Leonardo Re says
Still using my finger(s). I have tried various cheaper stylus pens and have been more or less disappointed by all of them. Too big tips, unreliable input, …
And then, somehow, I feel those screens seem to be of too low resolution for really accurate input. It actually cripples me more than it helps.
This looks sweet, though
John says
Far prefer using a decent stylus with either the iPad or my newer Kindle Fire. It eliminates the fingerprint problem and is a far more useful way of navigating, reading, highlighting text for reviews, sketching, etc. Gave up on my Bamboo Stylus (bad tips) and went back to the AmazonBasics Stylus. The Adonit Jot Flip seems to offer the best of all worlds, and the build quality is well known. So yes, I would really like to win this one…
Doug Sharp says
I use my finger on my motorola xoom as I don’t have a stylus. I used to have a wacom in school and I miss the intuitive feel. I love the stylus concept, have purchased the entire portable adobe app suite for phototouch up and design, Alias Sketch and am ready to ROLL! All I need to bring my awesome design concepts to life is a great jot flip
Please!
Eric says
I use my finger the most. When I draw – which I like to do every so often – I use a Bamboo stylus. I use the finger because of ease of use and availability ( i still have ten of them). I use the Bamboo for drawing because I still feel a need for the instrument in connecting with the drawing process. I prefer that range of motion that an instrument provides, as it is off to the side whereas the finger is a straight forward position for the wrist.
Alan says
I use my finger because I find it more accurate than a stylus.
Gökmen says
I only use my finger because Apple originally do not support any stylus
Amit says
I have been using iPhones and iPads with my fingers.
Tried over the years different types of stylus but did not like “the feel” – it feels too chunky and fake so got back to fingers. Unfortunately my fingers are not “Pianist” long thin fingers – it is more like sausages.. It is not easy to draw or type on the virtual keyboard trying to aim your fingertip without seeing where under the bulky finger.
All I want is to be able to draw, sign my name and write the way I do with a pen… Is it too much to ask for?
jenny says
i use my finger for my ipod touch because it is meant to be TOUCHED!
Isaac D. says
Pretty please give isaac a jot
I’m just a nerd who loves writing utensils. Plus, super precision rhythm heaven, ftw. I do use styluses for doing field work for my sign shop startup. doodling designs to be milled.
eab says
Both. I prefer to use a stylus because I have better things to do with my time (Freecell, Jungle Collapse, Vampire Physics) than cleaning the screen. But I find that my finger is occasionally useful as a stylus when I can’t lay my hands on one. Stylus, that is. Not finger.
tristan says
I dont use a stylus because Steve Jobs said it was obsolete !!!
Justin says
Once i got my Wacom tablet for my art, i fell in love with the precision and responsiveness of a stylus. Im a stylus boy.
Chantal boucher says

Mark Andan says
I use my finger on my IPad because I never had a stylus or device that use stylus before. I hope I win. This will be a great first for me.
cerveau says
I use my fingers because most of the stylus pens I used dont have the precision of fingers while drawing. I’d love to try the Adoint because its tip looks different than the others in the market.
Josh says
I use both, and think both have their place. Unfortunately there aren’t enough active digitizer tablets out there…
Marco says
I have an iPod touch but I don’t use a stylus because, well, quite frankly, nobody seems to sell them were I live. I’d love to use one with the SketchBookX app
I also have a Wacom tablet and I use both stylus and finger gestures all the time.
Feliks Isaksen says
I mostly use my finger, but I tried to use a stylus for some time, but it was bulky and hexagonally shaped so the grip and handling was horrible. Been looking for a good replacement for a while. This would come in fantasticly for achitecture school. I love the manual handwriting, but also embrace the digital age, and doing notes and sketching down examples from lectures really is the best way of doing it in architecture school.
Sean says
This giveaway came in perfect time for me,
In this days I’m illustrating a children book for the first time.
My workflow was to sketch my ideas in my iPad using the Wacom bamboo and then send them to my computer for digital ink & coloring.
The Bamboo was too soft for my, I couldn’t really sketch precisely and after two month the nib broken and I needed to go back to the old paper + scanner process, this pen look perfect for me – for sketching and it hasn’t have soft nib that can stretch and broken.
Justin says
I use fingers because after reading countless reviews of different styluses I cannot decide which one to get. kind of counterproductive isn’t it?
tom miller says
I have an ipad but no stylus ;/
LMB says
So far I am using my fingers because I just got my precious gadget. To use the more delicate features however a Adonit Jot Flip would be very handy though.
Charlotte says
I use my finger because I would have to carry around a separate stylus. The Adonit would solve that problem.

I use my finger when navigating and using my ipad/iphone. The reason for this is simply that I have never bought a stylus thus making notes and drawing have been difficult.

Wendy Chen says
I have fat fingers and so when I play a game or type a message I have a real hard time getting the message across.
Marius Cojocariu says
I use both a stylus and of course, fingers. I have a Stylus pen GHD-18 which I take with me everywhere simply because it’s a great pen, and the rubber end gives a stylus function as well, making navigation more accurate on my smartphone. Also, no fingerprints.
Quick sketches are easier to do with a stylus, while fingers do not have the same precision especially on a smartphone with a smaller display.
Martin Alvarez says
I Still use my fingers. I once tried a stylus, but was not very precise and sharp as this one. I would love to try it and start using it!
Karen Ang says
I use a stylus when I’m playing games because my fingers are too big.
Kim says
I use a stylus because I like the feeling of holding a pen and also not getting my screen quite as dirty! I would love the precision of this piece due to the fact that I am an artist and photographer and better detail is always a plus!!!
Thank for the opportunity to win one!

fingers are just so convenient and i like to travel light so i usually use fingers on my phone. the precision of a stylus is important for certain activities though

I use my finger because I have never found a stylus I liked. I keep meaning to do more research to find one, however, because I am a grad student and take notes in class, and I would love to use my iPad.
Clemens says
I use my fingers on both iPhone and iPad, which sometimes really is a pain. Always wanted to try a stylus but got put off by the bad reviews. This one, finally, looks very promising.
Justin says
Hi Yanko Design! I would absolutely love a chance to try one of your adonit jot flip pens because as a high school student I am constantly using pens but now my high school has allowed us to use ipads in class for various readings and exercises. But I don’t have a stylus and every time my class begins using ipads I have to ruin mine with my greasy fingers which have failed me plenty of times on accuracy. Even when I am not at school I am using my ipad to read or review my calendar but the frustration is relentless. Anyways having an adonit jot flip pen would make switching between the two infinitely more easier. I have looked on the market for others like this but again your ingenuity and originality are the best, I could find nothing like it! I hope I win! – Justin T.

hey Yanko Design. Ive been using bamboo pen for most of my sketches and drawing on my ipad. Although the soft pentip creates a fingerlike and analogue feel when sketching, it took some time to get used to the abnormally big tip. Frankly i still have troubles with accurate posistioning due to the big soft tip that blocks my view. Adonit Jot i believe alleviates users from such weaknesses. I would like to give it a try!
Will says
I use my finger most of the time primarily due to the lack of a holder or clip of some sort on my ipad cover. Plus the tip of the pen I have is to large to to detailed work.
Austin Gridley says
I use a stylus, but I have to go back and forth between a kindle fire and a moleskine notebook. I am a student and this would allow me to only have to carry around one writing instrument with my notebooks ant tablets.
