Well, I don’t have an ipad or ipad2 (couldn’t afford better than a samsung), so I would give the “Writer” to a director here at school named Howard, who I always see on his ipad doing what looks like laptop work. As for the Jots and Pros, I’d keep one to myself, then gift one to each of the designers currently working on our show Sverginata. They did absolutely astounding work in set design, lighting, and costumes, even before we started rehearsing, and I’d like to thank them for how above and beyond they’ve made the whole experience.
The first thing I’d design would be a poster series for our guerrilla production of Twelfth Night. I think a photo of our Malvolio mocked up like an anatomy chart, the specifics reading “Yellow Stockings”, “Cross gartered”, “Fixed smile”, and so on.
Jenny says

I would give the 2nd Jot to my good friend, to help him better continue work on his portfolio and the chance of being hired at the game design studios where he is applying.
The first thing I would do is to continue work on designs for a more modern and accessible USB flashdirve that I’ve been sketching out, and finalize designs for a number of company logos I’ve been working on.
Marcia DeFiore says
I don’t have an iPad myself, so I’d give the iPad stylus to my father. He’s an award-winning 8th grade science teacher in a tiny town in north Alabama, and he loooooves his iPad. That way, I could hook up his projector to the iPad so the kids could enjoy interactive biology apps that are out right now.
I’d give the extras to my college art department – University of Alabama at Birmingham has amazing professors who encourage collaboration, community involvement, and new media explorations. There are artists who explore and love digital creation on their own. But if tools aren’t available to more artists, we might let some amazing collaborators fall through the cracks.
The first thing I’m going to draw is a jewelry design for my jewelry line RUIN. I’ve been so wanting to turn my Android into a sketchpad, but fingers just won’t cut it. I’d like to design a memorial unisex cuff ring to help raise money for Alzheimer’s research and caregiver support – in memory of my Grandfather DeFiore. It’d be a true joy to do what I love and give back!
Liz says

The first thing I would use it for drawing would be creating a video of lattice multiplication for my students and parents to learn alternative ways to learn math solutions.
bem69 says
I would so give this to my friend who still hasn’t found the perfect stylus for his design, sketches and notes, which is great since he uses the ipad religiously. As for me? I will actually do my first actual character and landscape drawing/painting with the added precision of The Jot Pro! Hope my wish comes true!
Jeremy T says
Hi, I teach in a high school. I’m already using a Jot Pro myself, so I’d give the Jots to my school.
We’ve recently ordered a bunch of iPads for teaching. While we don’t have plans to order styluses at the moment, I see the Jots being very useful. My colleagues who teach art could use it in teaching digital design, and it will save on some material costs in cases where it can replace the use of canvas and paint. For brainstorming concepts in English or science classes and for presentations, drawing zoomable mindmaps that are projected on a screen allow for more input than writing on a whiteboard (you can’t Zoom those–and that’s a real problem for shortsighted students at the back of the classroom).
Finally, penmanship/calligraphy apps are now finally viable. Students with atrociously illegible handwriting need not fail exams anymore–they just have to do penmanship assignments in English and Chinese (it’s a second language taught here). While they could do it on paper, it isn’t as fun, and they’re unlikely to do it on their own accord. If they can borrow iPads and Jots from the school, hopefully they’ll learn something in breaks between classes. Hopefully.

I have 2 co-workers that aren’t sold on bringing their iPads to work so this may give them incentive to try at least.
Ivan says

This is an amazing stylus and anyone would be lucky to have one. I will give it to my youth leader, an amazing bloke who recently started his teaching diploma course. He sold his old PC and bought an iPad to take lecture notes, design teaching plans, sketch mth graphs, etc. He desperately needs a stylus and this would be perfect of him.
With the amazing precision, I will be able to finally sketch my anatomy dissection notes properly. (I’m a medical student, and part time graphic designer).
I’ve been working on sketching surgical procedures, anatomy and other medically related images as a side project.
this stylus will definitely come in handy and would love this.
Thank you.

Oh man…finally I’ve found the perfect gift for my best friend. Sadly, I won’t be able to give it to her tomorrow T_T. She is finally embracing the digital world and got herself a tablet with docking system. As a writer — and having long nails, it’s difficult for her to use the screen (also being used to pressure-sensitive PDAs). Writing is her passion and this would make a world of difference in her ability to really make use of her device for her writing and social media. Does anyone know which retail stores carry this stylus pen…if at all?

The other will be for my close friend in the furniture design line. I will be using mine to translate the interior design of my new crib from up in the clouds into digital blue prints.
Cheers

I would give one to my boyfriend (who has taken my ipad hostage)…then I would draw “mine” once I get it back.

Hello! I would give the other jot to my good friend, chyanne. She doesn’t do anything except draw so I figure this would be perfect for her. Also, it’s her birthday so it makes it even MORE perfect!
I, on the other hand, will use my jot to help myself out drawing wise….I’m a student going to school for digital media design. I’m learning how to draw and it’s surprisingly going well for me! I feel like the jot would help me out immensely in my fired of study.
Thank you, Brooke.

I meant to say in my field of study….iPad corrections

I’m the Editor-in-Chief of my college school newspaper, so I’ll probably give the extra Adonit Jot to my design team. Right now we’ve got three designers sharing just one Wacom Bamboo tablet. With this tool, I can bring my iPad to deadline nights and have one of the designers working off of that. With an extra Adonit, any other people on staff can bring their tablet device to be used along with it.
Personally, I’d like to sketch up a design for a special masthead for one of our upcoming special issues. My design team will probably use it to create new designs and art for the paper.

I will give it to my friend Eduardo Shiffer, and my first art will be an illustration about my last dream. With it i could make faster drawings and skaches about what i dream…

I will keep the jot pro for myself(I’m iPad sketch heavy user), then the rest I will create a competition of design in my company with the winners get writer, jot pro and jot.

I would give my jot to my mother – a world class calligrapher with 40 years of lettering behind her, who at the age of 60 has begun exploring combining traditional lettering arts with technology and she all the encouragement she can get.

I would give my extra Adonit Jot and Jot Pro Stylus to my artist friend who loves , and is extremely good at making digital illustrations. The first thing I would design with my new Adonit pens would be the layout of my upcoming coffee/tea shop and its website.

I’d give the extra one to my youngest sister. The first thing I’d draw with it would be some Chinese characters.
