Portable Burner with Removable Hotplates
Portable burners come in a range of designs powered by various sources but for the most part, they are still very basic and crude. The iMove your Hotplate system is a sleek burner with removable hotplates. The concept is designed for campers and small households but I don’t see why a larger version wouldn’t work in traditional setups. This would much easier to clean.
Move Your Hotplate is an 2011 iF concept design entry.

I want one! lol

Pretty certainly.
The picture indicates that the plate stays hot when removed and is an embedded electrical element, implying a portable energy source. There's no battery with sufficient energy density to support this.
Regarding cleaning, it's easier to clean a flat surface than one with indentations and crevices that spilled liquid can flow into.
Cheers,
Mike

Two concerns about this design. Firstly, as was stated before, it is easier to clean a completely flat surface. Second, is how are the plates connected with the rest of the appliance, is there a possibility that a splash or an overflow will cause a short or zap someone?

Induction cookers would be better?

The lack of imagination in the comments is staggering. With enough advances in battery power over time, providing enough energy for the hotplates to stay how would be an easy enough endeavour. We can already produce significant amounts of heat with current generation portable devices right now, enough to keep the plate warm at the least.
