Impossible Joint

At the intersection of traditional handicraft and modern design, the TER table and stool look to Japanese joinery to achieve aesthetically puzzling, minimal construction; all without the use of glue, nails, or screws. Each is composed of just nine pieces which are held together with the weight and pressure of the top plate. With the top in place, the design is sturdy and rigid. Remove it and the table and stool are flat pack ready!

I particularly like the posterior design of the table. It’s pretty unique. What type of wood is the table made of?
