As the trend of at-home fitness expands to gaming platforms like Wii and XBox, it’s easy to imagine that the future holds even more exciting advancements in the physical relationship between man and machine. The Gymbot is one example of how our home workouts might evolve. If my trainer wasn’t so hot, I’d totally invest in a prototype! This humanoid robot has articulated joints and can mimic any human movement with ease, speed, and precision. To navigate, the bot uses a 3D video camera, scanner, and thermal camera located behind its helmet visor.

Like a professional human trainer, Gymbot will evaluate your heart rate, track your diet, the efficiency of your workouts, and even yell at you when you’re being lazy!

Will Gymbot go all Skynet on me when I refuse?

  • ro says:

Interesting i wonder if it can grow with you as you advance. Hmm wonder if it has an on/off switch lol.

  • MRW says:

Nice toy. Last time I checked, bot’s didn’t evoke too much emotion, which I would suggest is one of the bases of motivation.
    Looks cool though…

  • Jimmy C says:

I’m not entirely sure if I like that idea…

  • Teto says:

is it not better to go to run with a friend?????

  • Killian says:

Let’s point out two things everyone is thinking here:
    1. Make real friends and go the gym.

    2. Why does this robot look so much like Buzz Lightyear?

  • Anna says:

Hope this guy doesnt drag me out of bed when I am lazy!

  • Hunter says:

“Stand up! It’s time to do some exercises!”
    … O.o
