Sunflower Monitor Loves Sunning

The Sunflower Monitor is one of those concepts I try to view with an objective eye. At first glance, the design seems narrowly different from a very well known form factor but behind the facade are very unique applications. The monitor has 4 sensors that track the sun to generate power. It has a mini-os called Sunflower OS to make syncing with portable devices a simple affair. Of course you can use it like a traditional monitor except this one has a joint design that enables panning in almost any direction from just the slight push of a finger.

I think you missed the point that it's solar powered. imacs are not.

That's pathetic. iMac itself is not solar powered, but who on earth would make such a computer? The reason why PC industries never make solar-powered PCs are because 1. too expansive 2. insufficient 3. cheaper when bought separately.

      A.K.A. Unrealistic DREAM.

  • Design is about thinking about all the solutions possible, and when saying possible, I mean real. That's what makes a designer not only a person graduated from a school, but also a person with the responsibility of being up to date with every new material, technique, market, quality standards, physical restrictions and everything concerned in the process of turning a product REAL. And this project does not give such a hint of having being undergoing any of the items stated on the previous “check list”.

LOL… what is it? …a garden computer? It’s gonna be outside in the sun? So its rain-proof???

…and what you call ‘wireless bluetooth’ is a technology called NFC.

  • Rio says:

that must be some high technology in next century , i guess, haha
