I’ll Cup Noodles To That

Oh Cup Noodle, you fed me all thru college when I was broker than a joke. You flavored my palette with harmonies of sweet and saltiness. How I enjoyed the gummy texture of your noodles and fondly remember burning my tongue several times because I couldn’t wait for you to cook and cool. Sadly Cup Noodle, your styrofoam packaging is a big no-no so I want to show you this one; collapsable, disposable, and much easier to ship.

I don’t eat cup-o-noodles (horrible salt content), but this seems like a good idea, the only thing I would change is the graphics, which need a bit more appealing design, maybe.

  • Confucius says:

I heart cup noodle! LT, this packaging wouldn’t be easier to ship as the cups for Cup noodle can be stacked ontop of one another. But it into perspective, (in your head) stack 10 of these boxes and 10 of the cup noodle cups. You will find the cups will take up less than 1/4 of the space. They still aren’t too great when it comes to recycling though…

What the hell are you talking about?

      I don’t get your point

      • Confucius says:

I mean the new, empty packaging. (before the lids get put on), you can stack them. But LT has said easier to ship not more economical. My bad.

  • RiceBoii says:

These take up much less space than current cup noodle containers.

Cool design! Except it doesn’t seem like you can drink the soup and the box doesn’t look that stable.

  • james says:

Love the compact box but you obviously have never held a bowl of hot soup before…how did you address the hot to the touch factor for handling the soup?

    • david says:

Yes, this was my thought too. The paper container will be too hot. Besides I save the foam bowls and use them for paint mixing, planters, etc.

  • Chung Dha says:

Uhm I don’t know if you ever have inspected noodled, but they don’t increases size that much. And ur making more waste with this design. Plus there are compressed paper cups nowadays which most brands use. Also you mostly hold the top which is not in contact with the hot boiling water. This design need to hold the bottom cause the top is to flimsy.

  • Zack says:

Cool design, I’m wondering how the taste is.

  • Obvious says:

Hm….Chung Da your logic makes no sense. Most cup noodles now-of-days are made of styrofoam = not recyclable. Making the packaging from RECYCLABLE paper you are actually making less waste. And two, you said something about compressed paper cups like what starbucks use. If they make the packaging out of that and maybe add an extra layer at the bottom for reinforcement, the box will retain its shape and the extra thickness on the bottom will make the box cool enough to hold. Problem solved.
