So here’s a laptop concept called “Float Away” that addresses one of the most bothersome aspects of mobile computing – heat. Designer Young Hwan Kim has a simple solution for it. Elevate the back end by integrating a lift bar into the design. Now heat can dissipate into the air keeping your laptop cool and possibly extending its life.

Or, you could just get a nice 12 cell battery to do the same thing for you while providing twice as much power:

The designer forgot to add the fact that the typing angle will likely be more comfortable, and reduce injury (which is BS anyway, but some people care). Whatever, marketing would eat it up.
A smart design!
Nice sculptural and functional balance of this design feature.
excellant!
I had an IBM Thinkpad in the mid 90s that had this same basic concept. It had little “feet” that could deploy and raise the back end of the machine.
i’m pretty sure mac books have the vents at the back which solves this problem much more simply.
I don’t CARE what this design solves. The design looks like a piece of junk. It would probably appeal to those that buy $600 laptops from Taiwanese makes. This designer doesn’t have a half-decent sense of style.
On top of that, have you seen the back? The extra room the fins take is useless. It would be much better to have a bigger battery pack to replace it – something many notebooks already have.
훌륭합니다. 심플한 형태구요.
모델링이나 매핑이 정말 대단하네요. 키패트에 인쇄도 다 되어있고
무슨 툴을 이용하셨는지 궁금하네요.
fabulous design..

I love it. Well, maybe because my laptop heats up very quickly and it’s very bothersome.
