Toilet of Tomorrow

Toilet of Tomorrow

Let’s be frank— noone likes to touch a toilet! Maybe you’ve perfected the touchless-squat, but if not, then you’ll love the Drop toilet. The compact design unfolds automatically when it senses the user approach. Just get a little balance and do your business! Drop will then fold back up for containing and self cleaning!

Mindplar: Designed Differently!

Mindplar: Designed Differently!

Kickstarter success stories seem to be very heart-warming, but the truth of the matter is that there is a great amount of sweat, blood and tension expended, just to get the finished products out to the backers. Mindplar’s story is no different than this, however they have managed to sustain and emerge as design studio that has carved their own path. The DEFENDE & ELITE are two awesome bumpers for the iPhone that are designed differently and boast impeccable lineage.

Hey Facebook Friend, I'm Busy!

Hey Facebook Friend, I’m Busy!

The AVA is a Smartphone cover with unique communicative capabilities. It uses the built-in accelerometer or gyroscope of the Smartphone, to intuitively change your social network status to ‘absent’, ‘available’, ‘busy’, or ‘away’. For example, if you are logged into Facebook, and want to switch your status from ‘available’ to ‘invisible’, then simply nudge the shell to a side-face. This not only changes the status but also changes the mode from ‘ring’ to ‘silent’.

The X – Pen Magic

The X – Pen Magic

For a person who gets inspired by fine writing instruments, it should be easy for me to articulate my opinion about the X – Pen, but for some odd reason I have a block! I think it stems from the fact that I equated well designed pens with the high-end brands. The X – Pen has forced me to rewire my thinking & take into consideration that lovingly crafted pens can be equally inspiring, distinguished and exude the same amount of confidence that a Porsche Design TecFlex or a Mont Blanc can!

Modern Modularity

Modern Modularity

The latest from Piurra, the Pinhole collection was developed to provide versatility in spaces where every square inch matters. By using modular, interchangeable sections, each unit can easily be converted to suit the needs of the user. In seconds in transforms from a console table, to a bedside stand or dresser. The collection’s name is derived from a photographic technique where images are captured within a small hole. This is reflected on the perforated material, giving the piece a 70s aesthetic but with modern functionality.

LIttle Savior

LIttle Savior

It’s happened to all of us… you’re hard at work at the computer when a power failure occurs and you lose… EVERYTHING. The worst! — Autosave is great and all, but it doesn’t always do the trick. This is where Little Savior comes in handy. Just like the name suggests, it gives you an extra 10 minutes of power so you can save your work! Best of all, it’s just slightly larger than a standard plug, making it more discreet than other heavy duty surge protectors.

Perfect Circles

Perfect Circles

Apsis is based on the circle’s most fundamental quality – rotational symmetry. The laminated beech wood body revolves freely around a limestone trey base, without the need for complicated mechanisms commonly associated with adjustable lamps. In placing the base ring over the circular stone base, a bearing is created, allowing the lamp to rotate freely. The cable and LED components are hidden within the body and head, creating a clean, uninterrupted aesthetic that emphasises the lamp’s simple geometry.

Solar Movement Light

Solar Movement Light

Jon Liow’s Solar concept is an interactive light and smartphone app system that synchronizes with a user-specified timezone to mirror the sun’s natural light cycle. The user’s curiosity can run wild as they explore different timezones from the comfort of home. This unique take on time allows us to feel connected with places we may have never even been or seen, with the user being able to experience the light cycle of any location in the world.

Surface Inspired Phone

Surface Inspired Phone

How I love the creative genius of Phone Designer aka Jonas Dähnert! Inspired by the original 2012 Surface, this concept phone has all the elements of a sleek design and ingenuity that is often seen missing in Microsoft products. Remember Zune? Moving on, if we throw the floor open for debate, then what kinda featured would you like to see in this Windows 8 powered phone? Do tell….

Sundown Café

Sundown Café

The Closed Watch is an innovative tool for hikers and mountain climber; it intuitively informs them about the sunrise and sunset times. Keeping safety in mind, the timings for sunset during the different seasons is factored into the design. Pretty impressive if you ask me! At the press of a button you can switch between winter and summer, and get accurate intuitive details. Matter of fact, the watch is ideal for any outdoor sports and recreational activity.

Forget the Beanbag, Meet the Greenbag!

Forget the Beanbag, Meet the Greenbag!

The PP Capsule is a distant relative of the beanbag chair that is composed entirely of post-consumer materials. The lightweight yet durable outer later is made with recycled polyester, the most sustainable synthetic fiber on the market. As for the inside, each capsule uses 4000 standard PP plastic bottle caps chopped into small pieces before filling the chair. Best of all, this eco-concious design can be produced by local enterprises, seamstresses, & craftsman by using 2 materials that are found worldwide!

Modern Sacred Shelving

Modern Sacred Shelving

The Noma Shelf is a statement on habitual consumption, reminding us of the things we already own, while accommodating the new. Based on the traditional Japanese tokonoma, the shelf is sized for displaying small artistic objects. However, if you slide the shelf away from the wall, a stretchy lycra pouch is revealed for storing cherished items and trinkets. The pouch grows as items are added, so the form is completely dictated by the contents and quietly reminds us of our accumulation as it swells!
