BrakeLok – Car Immobilization by Chris Ward
There is a large market for replacement handbrake covers, especially among young drivers who wish to customize their vehicles. BrakeLok is a handbrake cover which also offers a security solution, whereby the brake cannot be released without the removable button. Once fitted the user simply removes the button from the end of the cover when parked, and the system locks all linear movement, preventing the original button from being able to be pushed. The unit comes with several size fittings to be compatible with a wide range of cars. Click on picture 3 to see how it works.

Naive concept. The rear brakes (which is what the e-brake engages) are not enough to immobilize a vehicle. At best it’s going to overheat and warp the rear rotors (or drums). Apply this to the gear selector on a manual transmission vehicle and you might have something.

Wouldn’t a car owner want to deter a thief from entering the car in the first place?
With a wheel lock, there are visual deterrences so a car would be protected from potential thiefs. but with this there is nothing like this.

This is an old idea! My father had one of these 15+ years ago! the same function, even very looked similar design wise
(was a loose fit sleeve over original brake and required a couple of special grub screws to tighten to brake-lever, then key lock to press button)
