Memory Compartments

It’s not very clear if the Uniting U disk can compartmentalize your files as per sharing and non-sharing files, but what it can do is increase the storage. In the era where we talk about terabytes, small USBs with GB storage may seem misplaced. However when it comes to the majority population, then simple GBs suffice. So for their sake and the sake of expansion without fuss, the Uniting is the way to go.

The Uniting U disk is a 2012 iF Design talents entry.

  • Ray says:

Same problem as other nesting disks of this type:
-File size is limited by the individual sticks
-Inefficient space usage (for when one file is just a wee bit too large to fill ther remaining space on one it has to be moved to another)

  • Matt says:

Yeah I agree with Ray but if individual pen-drives could hold more than 1GB and something a little closer to 8GB to even 32GB, I could really see this idea working…

  • Colton says:

I can see there being an issue with the order of the sticks. You would have to keep them all stuck together to prevent them from scrambling your files.

  • Ray says:

This would only be an issue if they are read as one single partition (ex using RAID0). More than likely they would be treated as individual partitions that would fill up independantly. (this design would merely save USB slots)

  • chenshuqi says:

i think this is not easy ,on the contrary, this is complex

  • May I just say what a comfort to uncover someone who actually understands what they are discussing on
the net. You certainly realize how to bring an issue to light and make
it important. A lot more people ought to look
at this and understand this side of your story.
It’s surprising you’re not more popular since you surely possess the gift.

  • Thanks for the marvelous posting! I genuinely enjoyed reading it,
you could be a great author.I will be sure to bookmark your blog and
definitely will come back sometime soon. I want to encourage yourself to
