The Last Straw

Boo to you, you-land-polluting-extra-plastic STRAW! We don’t need you!

Not a great slogan for the green-brigade, but most definitely do-able. Ditch the straw and have the drinks-packs include an “Internal Straw”. A neatly folded layer of the box itself becomes the pipe to sip your drinks from. Simple, easy and GOOD!

Nice idea but imagine all the bacteria on the corner after delivering to your shop, standing in the shelf, touched by curious people and put back in shelf, etc… :/

There is always a solution to every problem, the only thing is that we need to find it. Tell me if it were up to you, how would you refine this and go about finding an apt solution to the Bacteria issue. For me, I’d probably use a wet-wipes to clean the edge and then drink up.

    Any more ideas?

i still don’t get on how the system works. somebody care to explain?

As seen in the images…you tear off the upper part of the pack to expose the internal straw. essentially, only your lower lip will touch the outer part of the pack. The straw itself is constructed by adding a fold to the pack internally.

bacteria could also be said about soda cans as well. i still wash my cans before i drink them but most people dont and i wouldnt see that being a real big problem.

but cans are not as much bacteria-friendly as that layered material i think 🙂 anyway there seems lot of solutions about it, at even first look. despite its effect on production line -which i do not think it is hard to perform- i think its a good idea. former attached-on-box straws are easily gets apart and lost.
ps. atleast my father wants them in real, he has a 25 yearsold grocery store 🙂
    thx.

We do field trips with schools – and students bring bagged lunches.
I am so tired of having to pick up those small plastic packages that the straws are encased in on the drink boxes. They are so light that the slightest breeze blows them around!
I think the internal straw is a great litter free invention!
