S-series – Sleek, Sophisticated Mobile Phone by Simon Enever

Today’s range of phones leaves a lot to be desired in terms of design, the aim of the game being to cram as many functions as possible into a lumpy box of endless buttons.

The S-series however steps back from this approach and sets off in a radically different design direction by combining sleek, sophisticated styling with top quality materials all put together in a compact package, to make the whole experience of looking at and owning the phone just as pleasurable as using it.

The phone is aimed at people who want to stand out and make a statement, without compromising on features. Designed in such a way that almost every key feature, from using the camera to making and receiving calls, is easily operated without the need to flip out the keypad and waste time.

How come 80% of these comments are on how to buy this phone…it’s obviously a concept….a nice one…but a concept none the less

  • Mert Can says:

“Texhnolyze” high glossy materials (usually coverd by finger prints, scratches etc.) with “wood”… and call it a concept phone. I’m glad its a concept, an idea that can make us (other designers and may be some companies) avoid these things. Like in time the sliding pannels start to shake while opening or after the first time the phone meets gravity, it’ll be over for cams sliding tiny edges.

I wish it was ugly, but it is not, ugly is a better approach to being beautiful or stylish etc.

And %80 of comments, as we can see, customers… no comment on these can not read/ can read and do not understand.

I love how almost all of these comments on here are like “OMFG WHERE CAN I BUY THIS PHONE!” like… honestly this is a Design website, the vast majority of these submissions are going to be concept only.

Anyway, as for the phone… It looks nice, but judging by the looks of it, its also very thick for a phone. Now a days people want something thin… this looks like it could be 1.5 or 2 phones stacked on top of each other its that thick. Otherwise it looks okay (the whole gloss and wood thing… i guess is okay, no one does it, but its over done in concepts :P)

Anybody else think this design looks slightly like a car at the bottom (first picture, phone on the right)?

  • ere time says:

i really don’t like the buttons… they don’t go with the rest of the styling

  • Collins says:
