Syringe for Safe Injection
The One Time Injection Needle aims to help prevent accidental and intentional misuse, both of which contribute to the spread of disease such as HIV And Hepatitis C. In this design, the safety cap must be pulled back to insert the needle. Once retracted, the cap will stay in place to indicate prior use. Additionally, liquid-activated letters read “USED” once in contact with blood or another fluid.

There’s already a much simpler solution. Google “retracing needle syringe.” They’re available from several manufactures with and without Luer locks.

Drugs addicts don’t reuse syringe because they don’t know it was previously used. They do it because they need their fix, so I don’t think this will stop them from reusing syringes. But it will prevent mistakes at hospitals
Here is a modern syringe http://wp.me/s1CFPL-vibringe

Mistakes at hospitals are only out of carelessness. ALL the hospitals I’ve been to have the priority to inject the patient, then put it into a proper sharps container BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE. Even if they don’t, the syringes have a cap on them prior to use, so a removed cap means that the needle has been used.
This is completely pointless.
