A Chair With a Twist
This felt chair puts a new twist on sustainable ecodesign. The FF1 by designers James van Vossel and Tom de Vrieze at Fox and Freeze is comprised of only two components: one solid synthetic felt sheet and flax rope. The felt is coiled and recoiled to form the base, seat, and back while the flax rope holds the form and provides a nice finishing touch. Aside from drilling holes there is no loss of material and the structure is completely self supporting. Total potential for DIY. Felt follows function in this symmetric yet asymmetric design.

Gorgeous form and likely comfortable. Inexpensive and reasonably durable materials that are pretty guilt free to toss. Cheap construction. Very much a winner! (Just don't sell it flat pack through Ikea; the twisting is probably beyond the level of the average home furniture assembler.)

Probably the most beautiful design I've seen, economic, ecological and functional forever.
A real design work.
It's a pleasure to watch such creativity.
Congratulations.
