Locally Sourced Lighting

The Ninebyfour lamp is a combination of neglected local natural resources and the advantageous LED tube light! The minimalistic design is crafted from local Amsterdam elm trees that are cut down due to illness and would otherwise be used as firewood. Using trees that passersby might have enjoyed at one time forms a deeper connection and ensures that no two fixtures are alike despite their archetypical form.

I’m a big fan of LED, but I’m curious if this design would work with fluorescent, which so many people still choose. Maybe the need for a fluorescent ballast prevents that option? This fixture would definitely fit some settings better than others, but offers a great option for those trying to create an earthy feel. Thanks for sharing!
