The Piggy Trip
The Piggy Bank is officially the Power Bank and this time around we are calling it the Svintus Power Strip. Capable of handling 17 plugs at a time, the reason why it won’t blow up in your face is the cleverly concealed internal circuit breaker. It kinda protects you from overloading the strip, however it’s cute quotient can be upped by including an audible “oink”!

is it safe to have so many connections only in one point of energy?
but it is so beautiful I don’t really care….

The piggy bank concept makes me thinking of “saving”. It would be neat with a built in watt meter based tool or something that can help you save electricity and eventually money.

I think it looks cute on it’s own. I’m not sure it would be cute will all the wires plugged into it.

The issue is not so many outlets that is a load issue that you can prevent via a circuit breaker. The issues are:
- the socket outlet design are not in accordance with any standard and in this way very dangerous
- the product itself is child appealing and that in relation to electricity is a potential as such. It should therefor not comply with relevant directives
Forget all that and it’s indeed a design item

Love it. Wish it weren’t UK power, but that’s easy to fix.

17 plugs…….can this product even pass any safety test???
I’m not an expert in electrician but from my observation of outlet found in Hong Kong’s market.
They have no more than 8 socket on it(Guess that’s a safety/fool proof requirement.)
Please, correct my comment if i’m wrong.

I am an electrical Engineer. in fact I am trying to design and manufacture artistic power strips. while I was searching for similar products on web I found The Piggy Trip.
Obviously The Piggy Trip was not designed by engineer. In U.S.A, a single outlet power usually can not support more then 15 amp if it is in residential. So whoever use this Piggy Trip, they must make sure they won’t connect too many devices into it.
Also the socket should not be face up. If a liquid pure on it and the plug is in the wall jack. The circuit will short and it trip the circuit breaker.
each Electrical device has to have UL and CE certification. I am sure this device won’t certify by UL and CE.
when I design my own artistic power strip I will get UL and CE certification for them.
Please give me your idea if you are an arthritis and able to design in 3D your idea. we may able to work to gather.
Thanks
