The Cleaning Dog Squad
Before you call PETA, just hear me out. The dogs and pups involved are robotic and no animals were harmed in the making of this concept! Puppy Robotic is a vacuum cleaner consisting of a mommy dog and her litter. The mom acts as the base unit and the four pups are her cleanup crew. True to canine nature, the puppies run amok in a cleaning frenzy and at times chase remote controls or play some music.
The mommy dog nourishes the litter with electric juice and collects garbage from their units. A cool way to make them run in circles and clean their footprints is to hand the remote to their tails. Now that would be a fun site!

For control mechanisms I'd point to subsumption based robotics and robotic herd mechanisms used for robotic soccer. Lots of good juicy stuff there, most of which is insanely easy to implement technically.

Love the idea. I would add a 3d mapping capability so as the puppys wonder around, they are also mapping the environment and learning it.
