Walk Among The Stars

I swear if any city builds street lamps like the LED Galaxy – I’m there. Designer Sungkuk Park has a well thought out idea here guys. Using advance LEDs, carbon fibers, reverberators, and bio-resin coatings, he’s created a street lamp that casts a carpet of lights, showering the streets with glittery specks like stars. Space enough of these bad boys apart and you could literally blanket an entire street with far less energy than traditional lamps. Twinkle Twinkle y’all!

While I too think this would be beyond awesome, can’t help but wonder how many kids would drop to the ground due to a epileptic seizure caused by the sparkling lights haha. Ok so that’s obviously a joke, but it would be a tad distracting to drivers I think, no? Maybe not, maybe im just missing how it’ll appear in RL.

Either way, awesome concept for sure :)

Wow, this is a really cool design. But is it available commercially and if so where. I would love to purchase a bunch of these for our school grounds at night time. Let me know. Great design! Well done

there is something called photometery, calculated distribution &light levels in lumens that planners use to work out the ambient light levels where street lights are used. this is either in a road traffic or pedestrian capacity. Creating a system that used lenses to create hot spots from an indirect source is not going to be viable because it will have no usable photometric data assigned to it. its fine if you want to make an effect. but so what who would notice it.? for the massive additional costs its not worth it. bio resin will be structurally unstable with the natural ocsolation of the column, not to mention a drunk asbo with a brick. how is access supplied for the leds, should one fail? how is it installed without damage to the bio resin casing? what about moisture ingress leading to alga growing up the tube. this is completely flawed.

Wow, my head hurts from reading this ad. Translated to English much? Also, Just wait till it snows on this piss-poor design. Since LEDs don't really provide the amount of heat needed to melt snow, it will be useless in the mid-west during winter.
