Serendipity in Social Networking
Inspiration can come from the most unexpected places. For designer Hoang Nguyen, it came from Orwell’s “1984″. He noticed similarities with modern social networking. Abstractly, we can use a social network like Facebook in a “big brother” type of way. Question is, is there a way for surveillancing to be experienced equally? Would we all be jaded and freely living socially? Hit the jump and watch the video. Thoughts?

There is something wrong with the sound…if you listen careful the sound in background are some kids playing with a ball outside…
This is not good for the marketing…if all kids will have this device do you think they will have time to play with the ball?
You should put some “facebook” music in the end…

It sounds like traffic too, but i presume that's the idea.
By simulating an informal environment like a cafe or park, it shows that the product is more fun than serious, and is a social device designed to help you interact with people around you, rather than something you use when you're on your own.
