Created by Young-Min Kim, Hyeon-Jeong Woo & Kyung-Goo Lee to promote healthy bike use in areas that don’t normally tend to bike users (especially in the way of bike protectors, information kiosks, and rest seats!) Perhaps you’d enjoy such a thing? Consider the following: not from the Twilight Zone, but for your approval: folding bikes. Seen any lately? At Yanko, we’ve had several. Lots of them have parallel features, the most common being the amount of collapsing the bike does. With this most recent inception into the folding hall, the “Antares Lift,” we get front stem, handle bars, seat, and back wheel, all folding up into the bike.

In nature, things that are sharp, or colorful, or hard, are a lot less likely to be eaten by bears. Bears will eat salmon instead of porcupines or cacti (supposing they have cacti available.) This is also true of bike thieves and bike locks. There are plenty of relatively excellent bike locks out there, but how many of them explode? The Smart Lock – It Explodes.

Researching for this article I was surprised to learn that although a refined version of the cycle was available by early 1800s, it wasn’t till late 19th century that designers thought of coming up with a version suitable for women. Anyways, let’s not get into the battle of the sexes and enjoy ten amazing designs for cycles that can revolutionize the industry. After all, more than one billion worldwide use this mode of transport daily!

It’s called the “Kilobike” and it’s totally magical. You can tell em I told you so. It’s designed to “expand the identity and usage of today’s kids bikes.” Made for Seed, designers at Kilo Design made this a bike to remember. If you’re from a bike family, even if you were the only one in your family to own a bike, you remember having to upgrade to a big-kid bike. It was a sad day, but no more!

From the deepest streets of the sidewalks of intelligence and smart thinking comes this! A bike for the ages. Literally made for the ages between 10 years and 15 years – for kids who are of bike riding age. It is of common knowledge that it’s a strange time for kids of any of those ages, especially when bike riding comes around to petal. Let’s take a look at this particular solution and keep our butts in the right place.

Oh yes! A lovely new bike. ASI Kestrel hired Anvil Studios to design a fabulous new carbon filter Time Trial bike. Collaborating with design consultant Sean Horita they’ve made this “4000LTD.” It’s a really nice lookin bike, I gotta say. It’s high-end, integrates molded-composite features with “cutting-edge aesthetic identity”, and both empowers and expands the identity of the Kestrel brand.

If you’re a city bike rider you know that on busy days you’ll be lucky to find an open bike rack. Most only have room for two bikes and even if you find one with an open side you know its going to take some puzzle-work to place your bike close enough to use your U-lock. Well, why not make the bike rack form to your bike instead?? That’s precisely what designers at KEHA3 wondered when they created these heavy-duty bendable bike holders- Grazz & Tulip Fun Fun!

The bike is up, then the bike is down. You sit on the bike upright in the city, then set it down to cruise in the suburbs. It’s intuitive. It’s wild. It’s a thesis project. It’s got a video to go with it. It’s already mocked up. The final version will have a battery and hubmotor for a little kick in the pants. Environmentally friendly city and country transportation in one bike.

Yes, seems like “Folding Bike” is the flavor of the season, so I won’t bore you with any witty comments. However what makes the db0 (divided by nothing) E bike different from the rest of the gang is that it’s soon to be available this first quarter. So those lusting after folding hybrid cycles, hit the jump to catch the specs of this beauty!
Lemme do a quiz on you, bikers. How well do you love gravity? Not? I really hate it man, it’s terrible. So here’s the thing: you’re in luck. There’s a bike right here that defies it. Like a standard rebel. It’s called “Flying Bike” and it’s quite the magnetic levitator. By using the impetus of the bicycle, power is generated and magnetism brings the back of the bike up, up, up, until the gear is literally in the center of the back wheel, unconnected by anything other than the powers of the magnet.

All up in Copenhagen. This is a bike system design for the city! An open, “floating” system that allows the people using the bike system to ride a bike, park a bike, do what they came to do, whip out their map, find the closest bike, and ride that bike to their next location. This is the OPENbike system. Fully adjustable, full system in place to place the bikes where they’re needed.

High modulus carbon fiber! Bike for the talented rider! This bike is made for those folks who use their car during the week, but on weekends bike in the mountains, defending themselves against wolves for the greater good of their physical health! How does it help in this? The bike has a lithium ion battery powered automatic stepless gear transmission! What’s that mean? It decides what gear to be in based on the rider’s cadence, power, and speed!
