Beepers are BACK

Beepers are BACK

On your wrist. In a moment I’ll get to the main function of this bracelet – but first: when you get an email, you get a notification of it on the bottom of the display. That’s it. Just like a beeper.

Also, the main function of this bracelet is to be a watch that appears to be a simple bangle, where in fact, when you run your finger through the hole, the time is displayed. Wowie!

This Watch goes Ninja

This Watch goes Ninja

There’s a brand new cool and cute watch in town, and it goes by the name Ninja Time. This little beast has two “eyes” which show the hour and the minute, while the rest of the watch is dedicated to framing them in a way that looks assuredly ninja in style! The entire casing is made from molded plastic, the dials controlled by the ninja’s “ears” so you can set the time whenever you like.

It’s Zip Up Time

It’s Zip Up Time

The Zipper Bracelet Watch is just that, of course there is no watch face; otherwise why would it be here on YD! This concept is a wide leather bracelet where the zips actually display the current time when you hit the central buttons on the wrist. Each zip displays a digit, which you are supposed to combine together to read the time. Sounds confusing right now, but hit the jump to see what I mean. Definitely easier than a Tokyo Flash!

A HOT Watch

A HOT Watch

This watch concept is named simply and appropriately FIRE. The hour and minute hands are lit by LEDs that simulate torch powered cigarette lighters. It’s anything but traditional but doesn’t offer anything new functionally. Still, it’s a HOT watch. BTW this is a good year to quite smoking. Just saying.

Ironing with Ceramic

Ironing with Ceramic

The precepts of ironing hasn’t changed much. Take a hot flat surface and apply it to textiles to relax the fibers. Sometimes you use steam to crease and set them but if you step back, there’s still room for improvement. The “Easy Ironing” concept lets you define how much ironing you want to do and in turns tells you how much water to use; no waste. It also uses a ceramic glass panel which has superior thermal stability and makes it easier to clean. One of the top 25 finalists in this year’s Philips Award.

Waste No Waste; They Are A Treat For Plants!

Waste No Waste; They Are A Treat For Plants!

If we talk about the future of dining (everyday home meals), it’s quite alright to assume ready-to-eat steaks and pot roast being available in capsules. Compact food meaning easier to cook and clean-up and this is where the Electrolux Eco Cleaner, a portable, compact dishwasher comes in play. Using ultrasonic waves to ionize food particles on the dishes, this dishwasher converts the food/grease to reusable compost for plants. Thereby waste will no longer be waste, but healthy meals for the greens. Squeaky Clean dishes, just a by-product!
