Getting back to his roots, Designer Mac Funamizu takes inspiration from the Japanese Soma-Toh or a revolving lantern for this gimmicky Funny USB Memory Stick! Involved here is a transparent USB memory stick with alluring lights to represent facts. Example: no lights = empty stick; pink light = images stored; blue = documents & green = movies. And when the lights fill up the tube, it simply means memory is full. A delightful design, which is a tangent from the Swarosvki and gilded ones presently in the market.

Interactive Solar Energy Eye

While solar power and other such similar “green energy” solutions might very well be the solution to the 36% of carbon dioxide pollution sent up by commercial buildings in Europe, the business owners are reluctant to join the team. What this particular interactive eye on the wall does is to connect the customer to the direct result of the business using environmentally sound solutions – in particular, solar energy.

Swarovski Sparkling Lake of Shimmer

So you’re at Baselworld 2009, just walking around, taking note of all the lovely items. Now, just imagine you’re weightless, in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by tiny little seahorses. Are you there? No. You are at the Swarovski stand, and you are experiencing the “Lake of Shimmer:” hundreds of free-swinging mirrors remotely controlled to remind the viewer of of the brilliant beauty of the crystal. Sooo very glamourous.

Crystal Time Band-its

Swarovski Swarovski everywhere, and not a point to spare. Once again crystal kings Swarovski have managed to inspire yet another concept design. This time around it was designer Peter Zsolt Koren. His “In-spiral” bangle bracelet/watch design looks acceptable on either on a wrist or a desktop. This rail system design adjust through every other line and locks magnetically.

That means skin is the new black when it comes to fashion, and nothing makes a woman’s skin more appealing than some satiny lotion and a little bling. Ines de Castilho is the recognised authority in the accessory design field, her inspiration coming from the classic romantic period.

0-60 Seconds in 60 Seconds…

Albert Einstein once said “The only reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once.” Tell that to designer John Pszeniczny, he thinks time could use a turbo boost and has designed the fastest watch on Earth dubbed “F1/Carbon GMT”. Inspired by the F1 race car world and constructed of carbon fiber, Swarovski crystal, rubber and metal, this timepiece has 18 identical rubies and tells the time in everyone of the 18 cities on the 2008 F1 circuit.

Crystal Watch

Inspired by Swarovski’s expertise in crystal and Signity’s brilliance in gems, the Luna Watch is made of crystal, stainless steel and a Spessartite Garnet. To tell time just touch the two contact points and time seems to magically float inside the crystal.

The Japanese Crystal Method

Nothing translates the language of fine crystal like stainless steel…wait, huh?! Just checked my notes and yes, what you are looking at is Japan’s new flagship store for crystal kings Swarovski. Located in Ginza, Tokyo, this palace of retail reflection is covered in thousands of stainless-steel reliefs that create the illusion of actual crystal reflecting the urban landscape that surrounds.

Light “Sock”it

Imagine walking into a room with bags of crystals hanging from the ceiling which seem to be glowing in their brilliant glory. In Miami, at the Design Miami show held at The Moore Building, located in the epicenter of Miami’s Design District, Swarovski Crystal Palace unveiled an exhibition featuring Light Sock by New York-based architecture firm, Diller Scofidio + Renfro.

Swarovski Overturned

The lustrous shine of a Swarovski impresses us with its radiance. Imagine if you will a chandelier- however not just any chandelier. A chandelier filled with 6400 Swarovski crystals stranded together in a movable framed pattern that reflects the light from the four incandescent bulbs located on the inside of its walls.
