Union Jack Tap And More Creative Ideas

Union Jack Tap And More Creative Ideas

It’s quite unusual to think of faucets as creative elements, high-end designer goodies – yes, but not creative! Well the Joint Jack Tap Concept breaks that myth with its fun outlook and creativity. Basically it’s just three elements (tap, hot and cold mixers) mounted on spherical joints, allowing you to rotate them in many different ways. “It looks like a group of figures in ancient Russian folk sport “Gorodki” or anti-tank obstacle or British flag (Union Jack) in some positions!” Union Jack is quite amusing…don’t you think?

Frozen Unit for a Frozen Unit

Frozen Unit for a Frozen Unit

Allow me to get cold hearted with you for a moment. Let me warm your brain up with some lovely Industrial Design of the conceptual sort. This might also be called architecture, if you be so inclined to be specific. An ice-tastic structure designed by the 2-B-2 crew, one by the name of “Arctic Mobile Unit.” It is a solution to the problem of existing in such a climate, a climate not suitable for human beings, an environment that will freeze your tootsies off.

Bombs Away!

Bombs Away!

This is no aircraft. Nay! That’s all crampy. This is the future of transport. Elegance and a sensible arena for enjoyment of the trip. That’s what this is! From our friends in design 2-B-2 Architecture comes this modern marve; the “Bombardier Adventure,” a true adventure in passenger car for train mechanics. It’s got three decks, infinite niceness, and a lovely cool blue and green color scheme. Let’s get rollin!

Our Overhead Ally

Our Overhead Ally

Hello again 2-B-2 Architecture! If you read Yanko Design on the regular, you know that 2-B-2 has had more than a couple projects featured. Why? Because they’re friggin awesome. And what have we got here? More awesome. The project you’re about to experience shares the same name as the mythical creature whose main goal in life is to borrow three fiddy!* Yes, yes indeed, it is “Nessie,” our underwater ally! And she’s all lit up.

Noah's Construction Remix

Noah’s Construction Remix

Designed by 2-B-2 Architecture to be a reflection of the Biblical story of Noah and the Ark. To describe it, 2-B-2 chooses a refuge on the top of Mount Ararat in Turkey. This refuge consists of two levels. First is the entrance and parking for over 1000 cars. This area spills over unto the human areas, allowing avoidance of cheerless urban landscape and prevents the strong heating of the vehicles.

Italian Supercar Bathroom

Italian Supercar Bathroom

Two objects, both inspired by the famous car studio Pininfarina. Aerodynamical forms, fast and sporty. These lovelies come in two colors: fresh green (color of a life,) and scarlet (a traditional racing color.) Surfaces similar to racing auto varnish, nice to use, nice to race (if you’re into racing sinks, that is.)

What Pot is This?

What Pot is This?

So you’d like to relax in your bathroom. Seems pretty reasonable. Do you like flowers? That’s good, because that’s today’s solution to your relaxation problem, and it’s presented by 2-B-2 Architecture. Turn your bathroom into a lovely pottery barn with these bits of WC furniture – fine to see, fine to touch, fine to… use.

2B2 Changes Faucet History

2B2 Changes Faucet History

Faucets, the untapped design challenge. Is that what you say when you see a wild faucet? This is a wild faucet, one of the wilder ones I’ve seen. It’s whipped up by designer Andrey Bondarenko to effectively change the evolved history of the sink itself. Instead of reflecting the shape and sensibilities of a waterfall or a geyser, as it is with a “normal” tap, this faucet takes on the form of the water as it’s fallen in the round sink. Wild, yes?

Richard Serra Sculpture Redux

Richard Serra Sculpture Redux

You know the giant metal sculptures of the world-renound sculptor artist Richard Serra? Well get on that! Read and roll! Then come back and see this direct homage (NOT DIRECTLY AFFILIATED) to Serra through room dividing walls. Hangers and all kinds of stuff too! Don’t put these on carpeting or clay. That would just plain spell disaster. Also be wary of hanging any long artwork or photographs.

Vertigo Inducing Kazimir Supermatic

Vertigo Inducing Kazimir Supermatic

This highly conceptual interior space with spatially graphic planes meeting into floors meeting into ceilings meeting into walls is not for the faint at mind. Kazimira Malevich’s supermatic compositions are prototypes, schemes on which the spectator can define his/her own spacial relationship within the room. Even the shadows cast by the lines create more geometric planes to confuse the visitor. Remember to take a dramamine before entering.

Top 10 Designer Bathrooms

Top 10 Designer Bathrooms

Oh Crap! Are we seriously talking about toilets today? Yeah we are, but in a very different way! Ok, lets get a bit sophisticated and discuss the most important quarters of our abode in a very designer-ish manner. The place where we do our unloading, washing, cleaning and kinky-stuff, is often neglected due to our hectic pace. Lets slow down a bit and enjoy a select few luxury fixtures and fittings that we would LOVE to see in our bathroom but don’t have the time (or money) for. Hope you enjoy this Top 10!

Modular Pets Making A Good Footrest

Modular Pets Making A Good Footrest

As if Fido didn’t have enough competition from would-be robot overlords; now comes yet another challenger that requires even less fuss. TOYS are modular furniture pieces all designed to look like man’s best friend. They come in a variety of shapes, materials and colors. Set ‘em up on the window to look out at the world or place ‘em under your feet because you know a real dog would never agree to be your footrest. The loving, dedicated companion bit is lost but at least there won’t be any “accidents.”

Spacey Loo or Giant Smoking Pipe?

Spacey Loo or Giant Smoking Pipe?

Its name is Mrs. Hudson. Yes she has a name. The design was inspired by a modified water drop, whatever that means. I’m seeing more smoking pipe tho, but hey, it recently won a Russian bathroom design contest sponsored by Roca so it must be good. I just wonder who Mrs. Hudson is and if she knows a loo was named after her.
