The Virtual Intelligent Projector is a brilliant concept and a very helpful aid to designers. Umpteen hours go into designing the packaging of a product and the impact can only be known after samples are printed. This device basically eliminates the process of printing a sample as it projects the virtual packaging label to the box. It can cast color drafts onto six sides of blank color box.

If you’ve never heard of holocube before, you’re in for a treat. This is a brand of products in their own category. Presentation machines I suppose you could call them, but projectors + projection booth + ultra-simplified computer to hold the projected video is what they are, and not just any projection booth – transparent glass for two-sided viewing. The model this post focuses on is the brand new HC70, a six foot tall box with a 70″ diagonal screen for full-sized human projections.

This is a concept design about a set of wireless headphones that also have a 10.1 megapixel digi-cam on one side and a digital image projector on the side. You can capture your world all the time and put that stuff on the internet right away. Instantly.

I wonder what else we will be seeing in futuristic kitchens, but for the moment let’s stick to what Nelly has for us. Since my French is no-good I’m going to do my best to explain what she is trying to convey. Oniris is the kitchen for the future that integrates technology to its advantage. The central working unit doubles up as a dining, washing, cooking and storage area. There is a chandelier on top of the unit that houses LED lights, a motion-sensor camera and a projector as well. You guessed it, the projector displays recipes/images on the countertop.

Wow, I have seen parsecs worth of concept computer designs during my visit here on Earth, but nothing like this “B-membrane” design by Korean designer Won-Seok Lee. He has taken the need for a bulky monitors right out of the equation and opted for beaming your YouTubing onto any surface you can point the omni-directional projector at.

When you see a sleek little projector like this Photo Shower, you expect it to be packed with tech-specs and groundbreaking features; but NO! No, no, no! It DOES NOT boast of any such things, in fact it goes out of the way to ensure that you get the point: It’s a simple uncomplicated projector. It’s USP; it pours images down the screen like the cascade from a shower head; that’s it! Drops of photos trickle down the screen. Functions on the device are pretty basic but it sure scores high on the glam quotient.

During his studies at H.I.T., Moti Barzilay had to design something iconic in the realm of Apple products – something he felt was missing from their lineup. He came up with the iShow. Yes another “i” meme. It’s a portable projector designed for Apple’s line of iPods, iPhones, and MacBooks. The clam inspired body turns on when you pull the two discs apart to expose a pico projector and ports. He doesn’t mention pixel resolution but the projection system is LED based and no you can’t use it as a Yo-Yo.

The E-Pod dock crams everything you need to get the most out of your iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPod by acting as a speaker, movie projector, and alarm clock. It promises powerful hi-fidelity even those it’s not much bigger than a standard alarm clock. The most interesting feature is the projector. No info on how large, how bright, or how sharp the resolution but the entire thing does tilt. I see a few glaring problems with it tho. Do you?

Every time I have to do a Mac post I get butterflies in my stomach, coz you guys laud him too much or pan him badly! Either ways, I’m a big fan of concepts, hence here we go again. On the platter is the iAcqua iPhone Dock with a transparent touch screen, speakers and a projector. Place your phone on the top slot and tilt it slowly to either side (like a faucet) to access your photos, songs or movies. Amazingly all the icon images cascade down randomly like the flow of water. Touch a particular icon (before it disappears) to access it.
