Projectors Galore

Projectors Galore

Projectors, projectors, here and there, projectors, projectors, projecting on everywhere. According to Gareth Marples, the first conceptual drawing of a projector was done in 1420 by Johannes de Fontana: a drawing of a monk with a lamp projecting a vision of a devil holding a lance. Truly a lovely first ideation it was. In this post we use two brand new concept projectors, top prize winners at a recent Philips design competition, to open the door to Yanko’s full collection of projector concepts.

Mobile Projector Phone, Do We Need One?

Mobile Projector Phone, Do We Need One?

Here’s another mobile projector phone concept but this one is a bit more thought out, tho not without its problems. It offers portability and the communications functions of a mobile phone with a projector to support a new lifestyle.

Levitating Ball Is Actually A Projector

Levitating Ball Is Actually A Projector

Geist Projector thinks itself to be a levitating fakir, but sadly it’s not! The magic happens coz of the electromagnetic field, which makes the “projector ball” levitate on the base. This gives an almost unlimited amount of mobility to the image projection field. The system keeps audio-visual reproduction as priority and thus is compatible with the multitude of recording formats available in the market. The projector base splits up into 4 parts and consists of the speakers, battery pack, input slots and card slots. Take a look at the detailed slides inside for all the info.

Pocket Projector Turns Mobile Into Remote

Pocket Projector Turns Mobile Into Remote

Nokia Pulse Projector is a project aimed at expanding the mobile communication experience and finding new ways to interact. It’s a device that has been designed to expand and strengthen mobile applications while working in conjunction with mobile phones. It combines a LED-projector and a NXT-speaker with Dolby sound processing in to a solid multimedia device. Using the accompanying Pulse software and Bluetooth, one can convert a mobile phone into an interactive remote that controls this unique multimedia player.

Projector Camera Smily Face

Projector Camera Smily Face

Don’t let the designer fool you, it’s THREE things in one. This is “Pico,” a projector/video camera, two in one. The third thing is the cuteness. It has a camera for an eye, a projector for another eye, and a microphone for a smile. And what’s that? It’s got fold-out feet so it can stand on its own? Oh my goodness yes. It also has the ability to plug a tripod into it, but that’s neither here nor there. Isn’t this little guy just the most precious thing you’ve ever seen?

LG Wall Mountable Digital Projector

LG Wall Mountable Digital Projector

This innovative “new frame” panel digital projector can be wall-mounted and is breathtakingly beautiful! Its fretwork patterned acryl panel at the front reduces fingerprints and dust piles. Whether it is wall-mounted, placed on a desktop or on a stand – thanks to its remote control the projector’s automatic lens door, ventilator, auto focus and zoom can be controlled conveniently.

Projecting With OO

Projecting With OO

Built from semi monocoque carbon fiber, the durable OO wireless projector is a part of the GEO series from designer David Riesenberg. As he explains, the projector displays high definition (1080p) data via WiFi or internal SSD storage and works independently from any wire for up to 3 hours. It does rely on its internal Li-Ion battery for some support but hooks up to any power source (via a single wire), should the need arise.

Technology Is Not So Scary

Technology Is Not So Scary

Forget the Silver Generation being weary of the onslaught of technology; people my age are sometimes stumped by it too. With manufacturers churning out futuristic, beyond imagination stuff; coping up with the functions and features on gizmos… Enter Space Jam (not the movie!), a multi-user shared environment that makes communication between the tech-savvy and the not-so-savvy, easy. The setup actually just includes a camera sensor and a projector, the rest is just more technology conjured up by the designers.

Smart Plus - Not As Confusing As A Tech Movie

Smart Plus – Not As Confusing As A Tech Movie

The working mechanics of tech gadgets in futuristic movies can really stump me at times, so for my sake, I’m going to try and keep this as simple as I can. The Smart Plus is a combination of a laptop case, projector keyboard and a Smartphone. There is no screen or a dedicated hardrive involved in the setup; the Smartphone itself is the “brains” in this combo. The inside of the case doubles up as a screen and the projector beams images to it or any other surface you desire. All of it together can be used as a laptop, gaming console or a phone.

Overhead Gaming Revolution

Overhead Gaming Revolution

Whoa a revolution! Total revolution. For people who bring their giant computers all to one spot and give the party that ensues a name: LAN. Local Area Networks with 1,000 cables no more! Here it is in one machine. Each console can handle up to 16 players. This machine, the “Iris,” is a computer, router, switch, and projector. And! And! And! it costs around the price of a single home computer. Now with updates from the man himself!

Asp-Adder Take A Hike, Slythrin Is Here

Asp-Adder Take A Hike, Slythrin Is Here

For some reason I have a very soft corner for designer Mac Funamizu. I know sometimes his designs can get outlandish, but like I always say, you need to dream BIG to achieve something in life. His latest concept is a portable projector device that wraps around your hand like a bracelet. This modern bridge between the physical and digital world comes with a camera, a projector and WiFi. Interestingly he compares & names it after the beautiful white snake, SnowCorn.

And Back To Sammy News

And Back To Sammy News

Thank you Laura and Charles for giving us a fresh perspective on tablets! The Samsung Galaxy One Tablet Projector Concept is a combination of three characteristics from three different devices. It has the lightness and mobility of tablets, the widescreen of desktops backed with the power of a laptop. With the inclusion of a back kick-stand and projector, the device gets additional functionality and of course Windows 8! Superb!
