Have you ever played the game Coffee Pot? Well it goes like this; you’re supposed to substitute a verb for the word Coffee Pot and your friends try and guess the word by asking questions related to the action. For example “I’m Coffee Potting Now!” (WRITING!) With no relation to this game, let me tell you about this ecological coffee machine called Cocoon. It is an insulated hollow pot that conserves the heat for a longer time, thereby reducing the need to re-heat coffee often.

Now I don’t mean to say that there’s only ever been one New Mr Coffee, only one innovation EVER, but this definitely is the NEW for the right now. Also that’s the title we got with it. So here it is, brand new, and what’s new about this Mr Coffee is it’s innovations in both heating and insulation, making way for better brewed, better tasting joe.

This thing makes coffee and spits out music. What more do you want? What more COULD you want? More? Alright well you’re in luck because this “Appresso” device does all that you want. It’s Android based. That means it’s amazing by itself. Then it makes coffee. Delicious coffee mmmm. It uses the Android technology to tell you info about the taste and scent of the coffee, then also reads QR-codes* from each coffee capsule, playing a specific song based on which pack you’ve scanned! My triple caffeinated cap plays Yanni in the morning.

Designer Omer Deutsch wants you to drink as much coffee as you want, and in as comfortable a position as possible. This right here is a brand new cup, with a brand new giant handle. All for you, all for love.

Did you know that Starbuck’s Coffee sells on average 30 MILLION cups of coffee a day? That’s almost 11 BILLION cups of coffee a year! As impressive as that statistic may be, the flip side of their fortune building is the tons and tons of wasted paper and plastic involved with every single caffeine fix. Designer Christopher Panopoulos does not have a solution for all that waste, but he does want the ubiquitous coffee cup to serve double duty and be slightly more sustainable. How about a Willy Wonka inspired edible lid? Or a lid that flips into an ashtray?

The Cappuccino Coffee Stick is a spoon laden with your favorite coffee-fix that dissolves deliciously into a steaming cup of water. Tear away the plastic wrap, dip the instant spoon and a few good swirls later; a piping hot cup of coffee is ready for your consideration. The need for “your type of coffee” can only be understood by an addict, I’m one and for me this design wins full brownie points. Now only if Nescafe Select were available on this spoon!

If you can’t make that real cup of joe, well this is next to the best thing. In fact it was so wildly successful with more than 10,000 downloads, the makers are working on a REAL ITALIAN STYLE COFFE MAKER wirelessly controlled by your iPhone. HELLO NURSE!

The 40 Years coffee set concept is a play off the Turkish proverb “a cup of coffee commits one to forty years of friendship.” The set is designed to facilitate the proper steaming and preparation of Turkish coffee by allowing the dregs to settle into the bottom of the ceramic tumbler. The glass cup beneath holds the all important liquor for a real kick. Everything neatly stacks together for storage. Turkish Coffee sets are usually ornate so it’s refreshing to see a modern version.

Born in a house where tea-drinkers thrived, I was the outcast and was treated as odd moody mad-eye for loving coffee! Just to jibe everyone, I would go out and buy myself the most exclusive coffee mug in town and would savor my treat in it. This would naturally irk my mom, but me being me…I soon had a collection of quirky and snazzy mugs! Did you know that the YD Store too had some awesome coffee mugs in their collection? Intended to be a simple solution for diners and less service oriented restaurants, this all in one tubular design holds both the instant coffee and the sugar/creamer in one neat package.

Buzzer alarms need to be tossed out of the window and replaced with the CoffeeTime. The idea is to wake up with the smell of coffee…no jarring rings or bells; just the inviting aroma. How does this happen, you ask? Well, you pre-set your favorite coffee capsule into the hour-glass shaped alarm. At wake-up time, the steaming brew just pours into a waiting cup and the strong aroma of coffee arouses you.
