Beetle Juice Inspired!

Beetle Juice Inspired!

The onymacris unguicularis is a beetle found in the Namibian desert and has the most unique way of procuring water. Early in the morning, when the dew enriched fog is settled over the dunes, the beetle goes to the peak and positions its body in such a way that it helps in dew formation, and slurps up the water thus formed. Using this technique is the Dew Bank Bottle. It’s made is such a way that the steel body helps to assimilate the morning dew and channel it into the bottle immediately.

Current Cart

Current Cart

The e~cart promises quite an electrifying experience! It’s a shopping trolley re-designed to be fitted with wheels that harness the kinetic energy, generated due to its motion. The sourced up energy is deposited to the main power storage unit, when the cart docks into it. Just line them up, one behind the other to form a power chain! Although the designers suggest that the harnessed energy can be used to completely sustain the store for the month, I seriously doubt that.

Stumped By A Tree

Stumped By A Tree

The idea behind the Tree & Root Lamp is to make us aware of the fact that we are cutting down way too many trees. So how does Kitae Pak translate this into motion? When positioned inverted in the pot, the lamp signifies a dead root, with the tree cut-off. Upright the lamp and it illuminates the room, depicting the true virtues of a tree and its importance in our lives. Besides the poetic garble, I simply think it’s an elegant design that can find pride in many homes.
