Let’s Play Doctor Doctor!

Identity Crisis is the theme for Antrepo Design’s “I’m Not A…” series and the last item in this lineup is Stethedphone – I’m not a doctor! Predictably it’s a headset that looks like a stethoscope and comes with a remote and mic. It allows you to make and receive calls, access voice-control features, and listen to music from your iPhone or iPod. The scope is made from ultra light and flexible plastic, plus three sizes of soft silicone ear tips add extra comfort.

Power Your Spice

Power Your Spice

The “Salt&Pepper Cell” shakers belong to the “I’m not product series” by Antrepo Design. They previously gave us the Minutuner, which was an awesome design for a clock. While that one confused us to believing it’s a Radio Tuner, the Salt&Pepper Cell serenade as a pair of whimsical D size battery. Fashioned from stainless steel and glass, the power indicators on the sides correlate to the amount of spices left in the shakers, before refill time. The Red&Turquoise and Black&white color options look fantastic!

The Impostor Coaster

The Impostor Coaster

Antrepo is a whiz as far as churning out impersonation designs. Their Salt&Pepper Cell was simply delightful, and now joining the league is this “Traffitray”. The last leg to the “I’m not” product series”, this set of coasters scream I’m Not A Traffic Sign Tray! Crafted from shiny painted wood or colorful plastic, the color options include red, turquoise, green & Black&White. If you were to come up with similar impostors what would you make? Gimme wacky ones like an IV bag that’s a ketchup bottle kinds…

My Alarm Clock is Not a Movie or Maybe

My Alarm Clock is Not a Movie or Maybe

Described by its designers as an attempt to change our perception of time with a good dose of minimalism, the Minutuner is as simple as an alarm clock can get. Obviously influenced by a perception of time as a linear flow, it brings to mind the progress bars below our everpresent online video players, contextualizing our lives as finite things to be lived well and with no regrets. While not immediately available, it’s looking for partners in production, so keep your fingers crossed.

For a moment you can actually say that Innovation has been the theme symbolic to YD and this year’s best designs.
