So, we’ve seen our share of headphones. Headphones have been neat for decades, and personal usage of them, day-to-day street wear-wise, has seen a resurgence in recent years due in no small part to the personal MP3 player. It should come as no surprise then that after their first minimalistic, Apple phase, they flower into a new age of aesthetic excess. Presenting the Flower Vase MP3 player, with earbuds in several different beautiful flora for you to stick in your ears.

Scarab is Small, Scarab is Fast, Scarab is Hot

Think hand-held pocket bikes! Mini Cooper small edition! Smart Car ant size! All of these are just basically giants compared to the hot insect-style transport. It is called the Scarab. It’s got multiple driving modes: fast to slow, perfect park mode, sensors, Lidar, radar, transponders, GPS, guns, knives, sharp sticks!

RainLight Won’t Follow Charlie Brown Around

In a similar vein as the Melting Light from last week, Charles Kalpakian’s RainLight re-imagines falling water as a source of light.  When prodded by observers, the neon tubes come alive and illuminate whatever sad room you’ve placed a glass rain cloud in.  I’d say it would be the perfect lamp for a good depressing book, like The Bell Jar or Flowers for Algernon.

A world away from the battery hen factories that are the standard in egg production comes the Cocorico hen house by Maxime Evrard. With animal welfare first and foremost, Maxime has created something that even the messiest chicken wouldn’t deficate on.

Luxury HiRise with Diamond Like Facade

As we progress into advancements in architectural and engineering extremes designer Dinesh Doshi felt it important the Z10 Tower remain on the cutting edge and never fall short in the eyes of the global community. Envision a seven star hotel, luxury residential apartments, and satellite offices for the avid business person. This complex dubbed “Z10 TOWERS” becomes the focal point of the project and in turn also the welcoming structure of the complex.

Global Warming Reminder

We all know the global warming is a fact, but what most people don’t know is that “dirty snow” is a crucial contributor to global warming. Researchers have measured how snowy landscapes tainted by carbon particles created from inefficiently burned fuels, vehicles’ emissions and forest fires are absorbing more of the sun’s heat than the less sooty snow normally found in the arctic. Findings also indicate dirty snow is responsible for at least 20% of global warming.

Carpenters and handymen rejoice. The Static Tri-Prism STP solves a huge problem most prefer to just sweep away, literally. Out of sight, out of mind right? I Want Everything in Containers, OXO Pop Review

Okay I need to spread the word. A few months ago the OXO company sent me a bunch of their OXO Pop containers for review. I’ve never been one to store things in containers because I only buy enough of anything for immediate use. But things like cereals, rice, and pasta are bulk items. I’ve been on a container storing binge because the OXO Pop containers actually work. Hey, they won the Red Dot 2008 Product Design Award so there’s way more than meets the eye here.

Available in different colors these keychains called Cinquino, inspired by cars, are meant to be like a small collection of zoomorphic mascots. The design is simple. You squeeze a soft top cushion to activate the LED headlights. Yea that’s it. Don’t kill me. So it’s not the most AMAZING and complex design we’ve ever featured but COM’ON it’s uber CUTE!
