This coat rack/bench combination, called “A Tree in the Meadow,” consists of 20×20 thick maple slats situated in 18mm thick birch plywood, creating a visually stunning matrix that resembles the striking vision of a lone tree in a hayfield. The design skews our perception of storage and formal structural stability- umbrellas, newspaper, slippers and other small items can be stored among the slats while coats and bags can be placed on the extended slats that form the coat rack.

Chef-approved Cooking

Chef-approved Cooking

Although they may have the accurate recipe in hand, professional chefs know that the perfect stew or soup is always seasoned using approximations. It’s got to do with gut instincts I suppose, and unfortunately not all of us are blessed with that. So if you are looking for professional chef quality food at home, then you need the help of Ingressure.

Tree of Light

Tree of Light

There’s something about rainbows and light manipulation that has captivated people throughout time. The Optical Tree by Lisa Pettibone employs the playful optical effects of light bending in an eye-catching system of hand-blown glass spheres, prisms and mirrors in the form of a tubular steel tree that stands out in the garden at the National Trust Property in Lacock, Wltshire.

The Modern Man's Pocket Watch

The Modern Man’s Pocket Watch

The Meanwhile timepiece collection combines the traditional characteristics of pocket watches dating back as far as the 16th century with modern minimalism in a series of designs that are as bare as they are beautiful. Like the original designs, these watches lack a minute hand and are secured by leather straps but differ from their overly decorated, chained ancestors in their simplicity and mixture of modern materials like polished steel and concrete with traditional brass.

The Two-in-One Team

The Two-in-One Team

Love this simple and functional induction cooker called Two any One. Basically it’s an indoor induction cook top with cooking plates that detach and fold up for portability. They rely on an in built-charging mechanism; hence you don’t power out or need cords when using it outdoors. How cool is that!

One Pen, One Phone

One Pen, One Phone

ONE is a mobile phone fashioned as a pen. It hosts a flexible 6-inch display that relies on cloud computing for memory. The design basically satisfies the needs of consumers who are looking for a lighter phone without compromising on the size of the display screen or applications.

Home-Grown Lighting

Home-Grown Lighting

The latest in a trend of garden & light combinations, the Aura lamp is an experiment in interactive objects that combines nature, water & light in a unique design that strengthens the bond between object & user by changing color with a simple touch of the plant’s leaves. The system uses an aluminum base with LED RGB modules that shine through the glass container. By touching the plant the user grounds the system & activates color changes, power & light intensity.

Inverted Illumination

Inverted Illumination

Unlike most desk lamp designs with shades that open in the direction of the light, the Flower Barb features a combination of sleek plates that extend backward from the apex. At the center point is a focused LED that’s perfect for working under. The result is a sort of floral aesthetic with a surprising, directional light; however, I’d love to see the 4 plates able to be adjusted in the opposite direction so the user can switch between ambient glow and focused light.

BlackBerry Windows Phone Pro

BlackBerry Windows Phone Pro

We all know that BlackBerry needs to either hitch a ride with someone like Microsoft or come out with a smashing BB OS 10. If we take on the first scenario and pair BB with Microsoft, then RIM’s baby is a magnificent Windows Phone Pro, which has the possibility of including all things good from BB tools and MS Office apps. The potential of the BlackBerry Wind concept sounds too good, imagine the ultimate professional phone bearing the security and agility of BlackBerry along with the competence of MS Office.

For The Seven Dwarfs

For The Seven Dwarfs

For some odd reason the seven dwarfs used to go mining at night and I reckon they could put this Light Shovel to good use! Jokes aside, I think it is a clever idea to integrate lighting into the shovel stick. It could come in handy in mines or when for you have to use it at night. Plus if we can get it to somehow trap kinetic energy and put it to some use, it would be great! For now the concept looks it can be tweaked and toyed upon.
