Double - No Trouble!

Double – No Trouble!

Duo is an innovative tap mixer with two functional spouts. The downward pour is ideal for hand washing and the upward stream, for brushing teeth. I can even squeeze in washing face and gulping a sip of water to the list but that’s about it. What I really like is the flexibility offered without adding confusion to how the tap operates. Hot, cold, up and down…all done intuitively.

Just The Right Pressure

Just The Right Pressure

H-Socks make for lame product design, however if you consider them as packaging, I’d call them pretty clever. We all know how reflexology is great for relieving pain and clearing energy blocks, so if the pressure points are known, we can easily ask someone (or do it ourself) to do us the favor of a massage. Even better, how about using a pair as icebreakers? Wicked!

A Ladder to Love

Quit simply, the Corner Ladder is amazing. One of those products with pure genius behind the design. Using a number of simple yet precise folding techniques, the ladder collapses to just a fraction of its size when unfolded, taking up much less room than most cumbersome ladder designs. I’ll say it again- GENIUS! Hit the jump to see it in action!

Adorably Wild Lighting

Adorably Wild Lighting

Inspired by the wildlife of the African savannah, the GIFU lamp series is as lovable as it is super-functional as a space saving design. Each lamp arrives flat-packed, but unfold it to reveal an adorable animalian form. The clever design makes the most of each component with the wiring resembling a tail and the bulb resembling a trunk!

Robo-Patrol

Robo-Patrol

The NR-02 gives a glimpse as to what law robotic law enforcement tools might exist in the future. The bot has an ominous look and rightfully so. It is equipped with some painful (but not lethal) weapons like tear gas shells and rubber bullets to effectively suppress militant situations. The unmanned vehicle operates autonomously using artificial intelligence and a combination of GPS and sonar to ensure law enforcement officials are out of harms way.

Illuminated Wired Mess

Illuminated Wired Mess

Chaos theory rules as I try and come to grips with the traditional connotations of the After Image Floor Lamp. Modelled on the mesmerizing ember effects of a fire going out in the dead of the night, red wires in an organized chaotic fashion, wrap around the modular frame of this lamp. To quote Monocomplex, the design was inspired from the scene of mouse fire play; ‘Jui-bool-no-ri , which is one of Korea’s traditional customs. If you ask me, it’s a whole lot of wires and bulbs in a symbiotic relationship!

Technology Transforming Faith

Technology Transforming Faith

Todays‘ technologies tend to convey security and confidence rather than functional transparency. It is strongly connected to mechanisms of faith and religion. Current societies particularly those bound by faith traditions, like Catholicism or Islam, have failed to adapt to a modern understanding. Despite the observed secularisation, there seems to be a general urge to individually define religion. Hence, we are not facing the extinction of religion, but its transformation.
