Bright Slide

Bright Slide

The super modern-looking Slide Lamp is constructed from a single piece of machine-hallowed hardwood mounted on a cast aluminum base. The unorthodox construction also makes for very unique functionality- simply raise or lower the intuitive side lever to turn it on or off, or adjust the brightness!

The Visible Lifesaver

The Visible Lifesaver

Life Light is perfectly visible in low light and night, making it an efficient and practical lifesaver and emergency buoy by the sea. The upside is that it relies on renewable energy sources to keep the LEDs working at night. It even features an LED water battery. So far the flipside are none, except that it’s still a concept. What do you say?

iPhone Case That Makes Sense

iPhone Case That Makes Sense

All said and done, the Ö Case makes better sense as an iPhone Case than any others that I have seen. Two things that make this concept win its brownie points: A screen-cleaning slider that cleans those oily finger marks off the screen and a special nook to wind and store your earphones. Simple design, creative solution and a sleek outcome!

Cutie Pod

Cutie Pod

This Segway style vehicle takes the 2-wheeler a step further in the form of a multifunctional transportation pod built for 2. Balanced on a movable joint arm, the Ayhanz Segway can be lowered for speed, linked with other vehicles of its type & even move like a roller coaster hanging from rails! Balancing futurism with realistic functionality, the design takes into account the space saving requirements we can expect in the future, & is a keen look at what urban transportation might really look & behave like.

Never Burn Your Tongue Again!

Never Burn Your Tongue Again!

It always happens when you least expect it – you take a drink of your morning coffee and before you know it, it’s too hot… and too late. HATES IT!  The Drinking Timing glass by Hsu Sean is a thoughtful design that uses thermo-chromic material to provide a visual indication of the temperature of your drink. Too hot and it will glow bright red, too cold and it will be clear. Remember your shade and you’ll have the perfect temperature each time!

Oh Snap!

Oh Snap!

I love a good hanger design, and here’s one that makes it possible to hang your clothes in a snap! The Snap Hanger consists of two units that fasten together at a single joint to function like scissors, making it possible to quickly and easily slip into narrow-necked shirts without stretching. Hangers can also be combined vertically to save space or taken apart and nested to take on the road.

Smart Flame Control

Smart Flame Control

Smart Angle is a visual aid for flame control on a gas stove. While cooking Chinese food, the hot Wok and ingredients are not the only thing you need to have a control over. The heat or the flame of the gas is the other key element you need to keep an eye on. The conventional way to control the flame is to bend at the waist and peek at the burner and then set the flame. Smart Angle eliminates this dangerous step by using refraction.

Time for a Healthy Heart

Time for a Healthy Heart

This awesome timepiece by designer Adam Nagy combines the functionality of a clock and fitness pulse monitor into a minimal watch design that will tell you the time and your heart’s beats per minute in a really cool way. Hours and minutes as well as your heart rate are displayed on the screen exactly like an EKG graph! Just don’t freak out when the battery runs out and it flatlines!

Humid Nature

Humid Nature

Coming from a coastal city, where excess of humidity (even in winters) is the problem, I simply can’t relate to the fuss around a humidifier. Oh well, if it means that much to you, have a look at this cute concept called Nature Pot. It is a charming humidifier that integrates into your interior setup as a flower vase. Peacefully sitting atop your work desk or home, that moist sunny flower will sure make your day!

Eco iPhone Dock

Eco iPhone Dock

YoungGun Cho’s dockTRAY for the iphone 4 and 4S provides an eco-friendly solution for docking your iPhone. The multifunctional solid birch wood piece holds the phone upright while it’s being charged but with its hollow sound cavity it won’t muffle the speakers when music is being played. Additional storage space for pens and other items also make it a great desktop organizational tool.

Urban Camping

Urban Camping

I love a design that takes inspiration from a familiar fragment to stimulate the viewer’s memory and imagination. Lamp Fire is one of these creative concepts and is reminiscent of the campfires that many of us experienced as children. It’s a clever way of enjoying campfire conversations from the comfort of home!

The Un-disposable Camera

The Un-disposable Camera

With his project ‘Timeless Capture’ designer Brian Matanda wants us to slowdown and literally smell the roses before we take a picture of them. Our focus is on tech-specs, angle shots and apps that add artificial glam. In a way the ‘subject’ of our photography looses its relevance. So let’s re-focus on the art of photography, and by the way this camera is a combination of sand blasted aluminum and polished teak and ‘strong archetypal form to produce a timeless aesthetic.’

Trap That Tail!

Trap That Tail!

My son often questions – how can perfectly wound earphones kept in the pocket, come out so highly tangled! While I’m no good at understanding this logic, however I can offer him this delightful tail! I mean the Line Tail, a cute accessory that can be used as line winder as well as a charm. I’ll take the fox, please.
