All-round Vision for the Blind

All-round Vision for the Blind

Navigation Glasses for the Blind is a pair of special glasses teamed with an earpiece. It helps the sight impaired to literally visualize their surrounding and even includes the peripheral vision. Sensors in the glasses pick up the elements around the person and kind of guides them with auditory feedback. A strategically placed mic allows the user to communicate with the device and get accurate realtime feedback. The really cool styling adds to the features of the glasses.

Fashionable Commuting in Paris

Fashionable Commuting in Paris

The year is 2046, the city is Paris and the commuter is an urban electric share-a-car system where you take your pick and move on to your next destination. A clever portmanteau of Paris and personal, the 2046 Parsonal Commuter in Paris is an advertising option for companies as well as mode of common transportation for the urbanite. Offering a clean-green ride, each vehicle is fitted with ample space for carrying luggage in the boot. Huge windows to view the dazzle of stunning Parisian skylines and comfortable seating are the two prime winners. Love the sleek design and the choice of city!

By the Power of Blue

By the Power of Blue

Blue Whales is a flexible showerhead concept based in rubber. It gives the user complete control over the water pressure and flow. Squeezing the showerhead dictates the pressure flow; sensitive areas like the face require a gentle stream where as feet can do with the max pressure. Generally you end up controlling the flow of water by turning the tap mixer, but with this unique blue, you just give a well-calculated squeeze.

G Shocked For Good

G Shocked For Good

The G Shock concept watch is designer Alp Germaner’s personal take on his favorite watch. I like the fact he has given it his personal style rather than succumbing to the “me-too” bandwagon. His version conceptualizes the C Shock as a digital + analog wristwatch. Clean lines and bold embellishments make it the perfect timepiece. What do you think?

Twisted Cold Water

Twisted Cold Water

Coolrunnings is a concept that allows you to enjoy a cool swig of water every single time! The way it works is this; a slender turbine of sorts is fitted into a rubberized cap and based on some physics that the designer has explained below, a few good shakes is all it takes to get you cold water on the go. With summer well upon us, this seems to be one of those must-haves when you wind your way through sweaty streets and malls.

The Warmth of a Hug!

The Warmth of a Hug!

It takes a tough moment in life to understand the value of a warm hug. Be it an emotional situation or the regular menstrual cycle pains (PMS), women responds better to a comforting embrace more than anything. Based on this idea we have here the Hug Light, an illuminating lamp that offers heat and light therapy. Stress, period cramps and pain are dealt in an emotional and non-invasive manner. Looks like something I’d like to give a try.

Clean v/s Green Tap

Clean v/s Green Tap

Easy Clean Faucet is a really smart-cookie-of-an-idea for a bathroom! To avoid germs and contamination you’d probably go for one of those sensor taps that put a strain on energy resources in the name of sanitation. With its single-press feature, you can turn on the Easy Clean right from where the flow of water is to cascade. Essentially in the process, the faucet self cleans while you are washing your hands clean. A simple redesign and a brilliant solution!

Bento Box on a Daily Basis

Bento Box on a Daily Basis

I love steam-cooking food and if you keep scores with Masterchef (or Hell’s Kitchen) you soon realize that ‘keeping it simple’, is always the winning dish. Adding to the simplicity is this Bento Box portable steamer and lunchbox. In one clean sweep you get to cook a delicious healthy meal that stays fresh and vibrant. The box uses induction cooking elements and steams water through the course of the body. Different parts of the meal like vegetables, protein, and grains are separated into various containers for easy cooking.

Camouflaging a Bandage

Camouflaging a Bandage

The only time I’ve been so obsessed with bandages was when I spied the jewel encrusted Cynthia Rowley’s Limited Edition. This Chameleon Bandage takes the concept of band-aid protection a notch higher by becoming literally invisible. I suppose there must be some chemical elements to it. However the designers have not clarified it as yet. Imagine how cool will it be to sport a bandage that blends with your skin tone, especially for those awkward places on your chin or cheek! Me wants one now!

The Elegance in Making Tea

The Elegance in Making Tea

Be it the elegance of the Japanese Tea Ceremony, Chado or the exuberance of Gongfu cha followed by the Chinese; tea drinking and its brewing is an artform that not many can replicate. The Chai-Set by Mahsa Haddad gives you the liberty of creating your own tea ceremony. A style that can be exclusive and distinct to you alone! The elements consist of a beautiful stainless steel tea tray that doubles up as a warming platform. An elegant china teapot, with tea strainer and holder, cups, sugar bowl, milk jug, and a ceramic container for ancillaries like candles for the tea-warmer.

Wild Transforming Chairs

Wild Transforming Chairs

Words almost can’t describe my affection for these stunning zoomorphic seating designs! Inspired by the mythologies of parahumans, the Hybrid series of chairs playfully merges with the seated person to create a visually captivating scene. It’s a clever and unique approach that’s sure to be a conversation starter in any room.

Beautiful Mess

Beautiful Mess

Though it might seem random, the Mess Lamp is actually a representation of the systematic “chaos” in the complicated geometric shapes of leaves. Starting from the top and moving downward, the “petals” are placed in a system similar to others found in nature, and perfectly camouflage the supporting structure and light source without totally obstructing the glow.
